Yes these bricks are beautiful to look at but not to wear. TOOOOO much shimmer and aged my face ewww!! I emailed a Bobbi Brown consultant to be told that I was applying it wromg and had to apply it with their special brush only. Needless to say it went back to the store, I was not born yesterday and know that you don't have to have the company's brush to apply a company product. Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Compact
I have the beige shimmer brick, and I use it on my eyes as a shadow. It is very subtle and I love the texture. It blends well, it builds well, and it lasts pretty well considering how oily I am. I haven't used it on my face yet, but I may get brave and use it as a shimmer high light for evening wear. Not A Good Choice For Mature Skin
I once wouldn't leave home without a swish of Bobbi Brown Shimmer. Now that my skin has matured, the shimmer highlights the "crinkles" instead of contouring my face. Not a good product for mature skin. I passed this on to my 24-year-old daughter and she loves it. Without a wrinkle on your skin, it looks fabulous on her. Versatile product
I'm on my third compact of the Bronze color. Not only do I use it as a highlighter for my face, neck, and collarbone, I also use it for eyeshadow on quick makeup days. In my experience, I get the best results when I use it lightly and make sure I blend well with my finishing powder on top so I get the subtle color and highlight without looking like I'm shimmering or overdone. The bronze compact has colors ranging from bronze to pink to purple to white. Makes for very pretty eye shadow. I love this product so much on my eyes, and it looks great dusted lightly on my cheeks, but it only works when I don't have any blemishes, which is almost never, so I rarely use it. A Great Product
I was surprised to see so many negative reviews on this product. I'm young (24) so I can't speak much to the fact it supposedly highlights wrinkles as others are claiming. However, the reviews saying it doesn't provide enough color are a bit off in my opinion. I'm black and I bought the shimmer brick in nectar (the pinkish/red) and I see a hint of color on my skin. I think people mistakenly purchase this expecting a shimmery blush, which it isn't. If you want significantly noticeable color, buy blush. If you're looking for a hint of color that also highlights your face, this is a great product. A little goes a long way
This shimmer brick may be expensive but it sure does last. Use just a little to brighten up your face. I prefer using this at night, or for evening events. I think it looks a little too fake in the sunlight or wearing it to work. I guess it depends on what type of job you have. Nice Shimmer
I have this in Nectar, it gives me a soft shimmer, though the color doesn't show up on me as much as I had expected. Works nicely as a highlighter over a similar color blush. Shimmer brick
I got this product for Christmas last year and I love it. I use it as a highlighter on my cheeks and also sometimes as eyeshadow. The color is sheer and lovely. Great product for getting that glow. I haven't tried it on the body yet but I'm sure it would be great for a little shimmer on the chest and shoulders too.
