Kiehl's Lip Balm #1 Reviews

Decent Lipbalm
MissXu (82 reviews)A little bit of this lip balm can go a long way. This Kiehl's Lip Balm #1 is in a tube-like container similar that's to a toothpaste container that I have to squeeze out the yellowish tint product onto my fingers before applying it to my lips. Be sure to squeeze out the tiniest amount, otherwise you're going to end up having to remove the excess with a tissue. After applying this product, my chapped lips definitely feel a little smoother. However, it also feels a little greasy. The product is meant to only temporarily protect and help relieve chapped or cracked lips from the drying effects of wind and cold weather. It also recommends applying the product liberally to lips and allowing the excess of the balm to be absorbed. Again, if you're comfortable with a layer of balm on your lips for hours, then try out this lip balm. The product also has SPF 4, which is not strong enough to protect my lips against the harmful rays of the suns, but it's still better than nothing. The active ingredient is petrolatum at ninety percent, which is a skin protectant and octinoxate at one percent, which is a sunscreen. Since the SPF is pretty low, and this product is primarily meant for chapped lips from the wind during the wintertime, this would not be a good lip balm for the summer. The inactive ingredients include squalane, lanolin, triticum vulgare (wheat) germ oil, tocopherol, allantoin, propylparaben, butylparaben, and aloe barbadensis leaf extract. It is on the expensive side for a lip balm, and the smell is not the greatest either. There’s a strong scent when you first apply it, but it doesn’t linger on for too long. In conclusion, this is a relatively decent winter lip balm when your lips get extra chapped. — 5 months, 2 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

Gooey
luckybetty (880 reviews)I had this a few years ago. I usually don't throw away a skin care/makeup product, but I remember I tossed it away this one. The smell and taste were nasty, and it was as good as applying a grease on my lips directly. Also I disliked the package. Each time I squeezed, too much gooey stuff came out. I stick with soothing Burt's Bee lip balm or Origins lip remedy. — 2 years, 4 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

eh...
MakeupGuru (424 reviews)This lip balm is packaged in a regular tube without any lip applicator, so you have to use your finger tips to spread onto your lips. It's mostly vaseline (petrolatum), so it's not worth the price. It does protect the lips from the driest weather, but it's very greasy and has an odor. There are cheaper alternative to this in the drugstores. — 2 years, 6 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

The best there is
EireItalia (271 reviews)This lip balm is by far my favourite!! Whenever I have dry/chapped lips this seems to instantly make a difference as soon as I apply it. I also recommend using it nightly at bedtime. The consistency is thicker/very emollient and it lasts throughout the night to keep lips hydrated and soft. A must have!! — 4 years, 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 4 of 4 people said helpful

#1 in my book, too!
cherrypie (195 reviews)Kiehl's #1 is fantastic. It's rich and emollient and really saves beaten-up winter lips as well as dry, sunburned summer smackers. It's not a fancy-shmancy gloss, but a great balm that you can even use on cuticles. It's a great, basic, unfussy all-purpose balm that I can always fall back on. It can be a tad greasy, but when you really need it (i.e. your lips are drier than the sahara) it sinks right in and feels great. And, by the way, the scent is yummy; kind of like an oatmeal cookie. — 2 years, 7 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Love the Classics.
shandimessmer (91 reviews)This product is a classic to me, and I love it:) My mom introduced me to it when I was a freshman in high school. Everyone should try this at least once! :) — 3 months, 2 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Works fast
MJay13 (87 reviews)I used the lip balm on my chapped lips this morning and it seemed to almost instantly made my lips soft and shiny. It is a thicker consistency than I am used to. But it also works a lot faster than I am used to. Excellent for nighttime! I do wish they would improve on the taste. — 2 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

I LOVE this stuff
JenniferRB (10 reviews)I use this almost every day and I couldn't be happier. It's very moisturizing. People say it's greasy, but so is Vaseline--the greasiness doesn't bother me. I mean, it is lip balm. It even looks really cute over bare lips, gives a noticeable bit of color and shine. I gave it a 9 instead of a 10 because I think the price is slightly ridiculous, but I still but it. Totally recommended! — 2 years, 5 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful
