Proactiv Renewing Cleanser Reviews

Didn't work for me.
I used this for a month and my face was breaking out more than ever. I think it was clogging more than cleansing. — 2 years, 4 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Not Satisfied
My face started acting up for some reason and I tried the ProActiv System to see if it would help. Unfortunately, I saw no results. The worst part was that my face acted up even more after I began using this system. (This occurred after the timeframe when my blemishes were supposed to be getting better). It did nothing for oiliness either. For me it was just not worth it. I discontinued use of ProActiv and my dermatologist recommended something else. My face is better now. I would not use this again. — 4 years, 12 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 5 of 5 people said helpful

Second Time Around...A Bit Disappointed, But Still Hopeful
I loved Proactiv when I used it for a year or so back in '06. The whole system worked wonders for my acne ~ I even stopped using it and my skin seemed to be fine for a long time. Just last month, I broke out wildly - big, red deep pimples and was horrified, so I ordered the smaller bottles of the cleanser, toner & cream. But after just four days, my skin became incredibly dry and flakey. I was miserable and had to quit using it for about four days and just used my regular moisturiser. So, as common sense dictates, I decided to use the Proactive system ONCE a day only....to combat the dryness. So far, it's going much better and my skin IS DEFINITELY clearing up. I believe the product does work, but you must be the judge of how much and how often to use it. Also, I'm amazed that some people are complaining about the bleaching of hair and fabrics. The main ingredient is benzoyl PEROXIDE, people. Peroxide is BLEACH. They mention this on the package: may cause bleaching of hair and fabrics. Uh, yeah. — 2 years, 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Bleh
I think my experience with proactiv is similar to that of a lot of other people. It works wonderfully for the first two weeks and then your skin gets immune to it and you break out HORRIBLY, probably worse than what you started with. Proactiv is a shady company also, I wasn't thrilled with their auto-renew service they were pulling on people. Wouldn't recommend it. — 5 years, 3 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 3 of 5 people said helpful

Skip It, Ingredient Tactics
I can go on forever about how ProActiv is selling itself by hype and celebrity endorsements but let's face the real truth. ProActiv has the same acne fighting ingredients as your local supermarket creams, cleansers, lotions, and what not. The cleanser was very drying to me. It left my face feeling very tight and somewhat irritated all together. The wash has benzoyl peroxide in it as well as the repairing lotion which in my opinion really wasn't necessary to put the same ingredients in two different products to enhance its effectiveness; a cleanser should always be gentle and non-irritating especially because it is the foundation to a skincare routine. — 5 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 9 of 10 people said helpful

Didn't work for me
I was really excited to try the Proactiv System because a few of my friends used it and said they like it! When I tried this sytem and I very disappointed. It didn't work at all and it was way over priced. You can find some many other cleansers at your local drugstore that work so much better than this overhyped system. Just because something is endorsed be celebrites doesn't mean it's going to work. — 3 years, 4 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

skin as soft as a babies
is my hope for the outcome of using a product such as this one. It makes me want to wash my face forever, I like the scent. I'm editing my earlier review because I think that the dryness could have been in part due to misusing the mask. So it may work. My goals have changed since then, I rarely break out but I can see how this product could really give dull tired skin a nice lift. — 5 years, 3 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 4 of 4 people said helpful

Best cleanser ever!
I have used this for about 3 years and NOTHING comes close to beating it. It kills bacteria and exfoliates all at once .For best results use the whole 3 products PLUS a moisturizer. This can be drying and if you don't moisturize your skin can overcompensate and produce more oil than before. Give it a chance!! — 3 years, 4 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 4 of 4 people said helpful

Great Product
My daughter suffers from acne and we've tried just about EVERYTHING! I didn't want her on medicated creams or pills so we tried this. It really helped her thought honestly I think it would have been even more dramatic if she used it properly. — 1 year, 11 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

If you want to become an aligator...
I had really bad acne on my neck and jawbone so I purchased the Proactiv kit. I used it indigently and noticed within the first few days that my entire neck became scaly! It was peeling, itchy, and cracked. Immediately after i stopped using the wash it subsided. Not only did the kit do nothing for my acne, it was very uncomfortable. I now can use the toner and step three for some spot treatment and have not had this problem. xoxo — 2 years, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful
