MARY KAY ULTIMATE MASCARA
I don't know why everyone else has a problem with this stuff clumping. Maybe they are getting old inventory from their consultants, or maybe the mascaras are being kept in a warm place and then being shipped somewhere cold? Who knows. I got this from my old roommate who is now a MK consultant and she got it straight from them a week earlier. It works like a dream. Also, I used to be a makeup artist myself and one of the tricks I learned to keep a mascara fresh is to stir it, but not pump it as that adds air and thus bacteria. Stirring moves the formula around in the tube and keeps it homogenous, and it also moves the product around on the bristles. Also don't hesitate to clean out the mascara wand every now and again to get old product out. These things will help keep your mascara working well for at least 2-3 months. Their black is SUPER black, it stands out against any eyeshadow I love that about this mascara. It gives great length and volume and generally just amplifies really well. I've never had a problem with flaking or smudging or clumping or anything like that. And their eye makeup remover works like a charm on this stuff, I just put a little on a cotton round and it comes right off. (I do this before I shower and whatever I don't get with the makeup round comes off with face wash). This stuff is "waterproof/wash off" which means that it will come off in the shower if you use enough face wash but it's always better to use the makeup remover first. It does tend to stick a little if you don't and then it ends up under your eyes. This mascara isn't my holy grail (I still haven't found the one mascara that makes me go "WOW"), but it comes pretty close for the price and how long it lasts. Definitely buy this if you are on the fence! I was rather impressed with this mascara. I had heard from a friend that this was one of her favorite Mary Kay products so I decided to try it out. First of all I love the packaging. The shape of the tube makes it so easy to hold. The mascara really seemed to define and lengthen my lashes and even gave them some volume. It didn't weigh my eyelashes down either like some mascara. I could see where some people might have a little trouble with clumping if you build this up but I didn't have any problems at all since on a daily basis I'm too lazy to put more than one coat of mascara on. It stayed on a decent amount of time even though I have watery eyes sometimes and oily eyelids. I woud repurchase if I didn't have that problem with my eyes and the way to purchase this was different. I really need waterproof tubing mascara so I can use mascara on my bottom eye lashes. I purchased this last week at a Mary Kay party after trying it out. What I like the most about it is the formula- it is fairly thin, so it's easy to build from a natural look to a very full lash. I haven't had any problems with clumping, flaking, or running even with weather being in the 90s and humid. Awesome. However, I'm not a huge fan of the brush. Actually, I thought that the cheap, stiff trial mascara wand I used at the party yielded better results. The brush it comes with isn't bad- it doesn't clump- but it's very difficult to get into the inside corners of my lashes without getting bit of mascara on my lid. This could very well be because it's so new and the product tends to collect there for now while in the tube. I'm sure it will get better. I used to love this product when I was in college. I remember it coming in a silver tube, though. I wonder if they've changed the formula too, because I got some for Christmas and it seemed different. Mostly because it does not want to come off at the end of the day! Sometimes it takes several times to get it off, and I swear it's making the dark circles under my eyes darker. Other than that issue, it still looks good when I put it on. — 1 year, 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 4 of 4 people said helpful

Mary Kay Ultimate Mascara
For the price, this is a good option. This mascara can dry out very quickly so keep it tightly closed. My lashes were defined and voluminous but this formula can flake and give raccoon eyes. For the price, it's OK. — 1 year, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 2 people said helpful

like it
but it dries out fast (which is probably why when your getting your mary kay make over they tell you not to push the mascara brush in, but "turn it" that's the only problem with this mascara. — 3 years, 6 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 2 people said helpful

Okay
I love the awesome formula. Do not really clump up in my lashes, and does a great job in defining the lashes. Better than a lot of store bought mascaras in my opinion. It does dry out fast, but I'm quick and that is really not a problem for me. I got a sample for this mascara online and I am quickly running out of this. I will definitely buy this!! — 1 year agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Fast Dry!
The fast drying formula really is my favorite part of this mascara. Why? Because applying this to my short, stubborn, Asian lashes holds that curl without making them droop before it dries! However, that quick dry formula also causes it to dry fast in the tube, so following the instructions and 'twisting' the wand back into the tube is critical. I've had no flaking or smudging problems, but a lot of formula is picked up by the brush, giving it the 'fullness' effect; though too much layering can create tarantula eyes! There are definitely quirks here that need mending, but it is a decent mascara and deserves at least a thumbs up. — 1 year, 5 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 3 of 3 people said helpful

Economical
This isn't the best out there, but for the price, it's pretty unbeatable. It won't give you over the top glamourous lashes, but it will help you emphasize your eyes. It's not waterproof so it is pretty easy to remove. When applied correctly it wont give that gloopy effect or spidery look either. I don tend to have to use 3 -4 coats applied with a light hand for a long full lash look. I generally use an eyelash curler with any mascara regardless of price or promise on the package. This is not a Dior mascara, but, it's half the price and having said that it works very well. — 1 year, 11 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 5 of 5 people said helpful

Great
This mascara was great; it made my lashes look thicker and longer. What keeps this from being rated as a 10 was that it was irritating for me to apply. I have a steady hand, but this still got onto my eyelid. Too much product on the outside of the brush. Another thing was that it irritated one of my family member's eyes. For me, though, this was a very good product besides the brush — 2 years, 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 1 people said helpful

Had (not high) hopes
My instincts never fully trusted this mascara and after giving it a chance... how right i was :/ . It doesnt provide the "full. voluminous, ultimate" look like claims and CLUMPS!! drys very quickly. I wish it were a charm for its affordable price. — 2 days, 7 hours agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Perfect.
This is my holy grail mascara. I have very sensitive eyes so mascaras can easily bother them. This doesn't bother my eyes at all, it's amazing! This give my lashes volume and separation like no other. I have had no clumping or flaking issues at all. I have no complaints or negatives when it comes to this mascara. — 1 month, 3 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 3 people said helpful
