Not for dry flakey skin

Any time I finish with a breakout, my skin is quite dry and flakey. What makes it worse is that I live in dry Arizona. You have to blend this in really well, but unlike most powders I've tried, this tends to exaggerate dryness more than others. When my skin is normal, this is actually a great power to use for touchups throughout the day. I like that the compact is smaller/thinner than most compacts which makes it ultra portable. — 8 months, 1 week ago

A good powder

I decided to buy this because it seemed to be a great setting powder to top your liquid foundation with but with that said i didn't like the way it looked with my initial application of studio fix fluid, just a little too cakey and powdery for my tastes especially since i used my 187 to put it on. I will only use this now as a touch up during the summer to keep shine and oil at bay. — 2 years, 12 months ago

I really like this product! It has a silky smooth finish to it, it doesn't cake up, and it is longlasting. I actually like this powder better than Studio Fix Powder Foundation as it doesn't go on heavy and it doesn't noticeably oxidize on my face either. — 3 years, 10 months ago

I use this alone a lot without foundation. I have moderately oily skin with more uneven color and occasional splotchiness than serious imperfections. It covers lightly and blends all of that without the heaviness of foundation. The colors are beautiful too, I use the NC40. A suggestion is to ditch the little sponge that comes with the compact and use a fluffy brush instead. It is much more hygenic and uses less of the product and provides nicer and more even coverage. — 4 years, 4 months ago

a nice splurge

i bought this powder to try during the summer for something light and not too heavy, so far i love it! its good to wear over foundation if applied with a light hand or even by itself when in a rush. it just makes my skin look soft and fresh without looking like a complete cakeface. i would definitely buy this again — 8 months, 4 weeks ago

I love this product from MAC it is so sheer and is great for setting my foundation. It gives me a nice matte finish and I can bring it with me throughout the day for minimal touch ups. I'm kind of skeptical about MAC products for the simple fact that I don't really like the "made up" look and MAC seems like it's one of those "heavy" on the makeup brands. But I gave this a try and it worked very well. I have dark skin and I didn't look ghosty. It absorbed oil very well and lasted all day. I rarely had to retouch and my makeup seemed like perfection. well worth the price

I have tried other cheaper pressed powders but this is the best! It sets my foundation perfectly and I rarely need to touchup. I had my makeup done at MAC for my best friend's wedding and I look great in all the pictures. The wedding festivities did not end until 2 am and I only touched up my makeup twice. Available in a wide variety of shades, this jet-milled, smooth powder never looks cakey and sets foundation to the perfect finish. Worn alone, it's not really going to cover much, but yet this product has the perfect amount of pigmentation to help supplement your foundation to give your skin a flawless look. (It also has enough pigmentation that if you don't have the right color, you'll be able to tell). Once applied, this powder helps prevent smudges and absorbs oil (but you still may need to blot if your prone to oiliness).
