Too much glitter.
I have this in Soft and Gentle, which is probably best used as a highlighter. It is quite sparkly and frosty, and I try to use it sparingly. There's quite a bit of product, and I do like that it's baked, but it's not something I ever really reach for. Maybe another shade would change my mind about this product, but as for now, I'm not really in love with this product. UPDATE: I also have this in "Crystal Pink" from MAC's recent Semi Precious collection. I received it to test out for We Heart This. "Crystal Pink" is a sheer, light pink shimmer. It adds quite a bit of sparkle to my face. I tried to use just a small amount over my matte blush, and the look was nice. It adds a healthy glow to your face. However, I had to be very careful not to pick up too much product. There is a generous amount of product in each compact, especially given how little I use per application, so the $28 price tag isn't too bad, if you like using highlighters. I personally don't use highlighters often, and definitely not super shimmery ones. The wear time is so-so--it seems that the shimmer comes off rather easily/there's a bit of fall out. To be honest, I don't understand the draw of MAC MSF's. They do look pretty, all swirled and domed in the compact. But I don't feel that they're a particularly useful product. I have large pores, and this much shimmer tends to accentuate it. Too much sparkle!
I don't remember the shade name anymore, but I used to have one of these in a darker, bronzer-like shade. I only tried it out a couple of times before I gave up on it for having WAY too much sparkle to it. But if the shade had been better for my skin tone and more to my taste, this stuff would have been wonderful. I have never tried any powder that was smoother or more fine than this one. I would like to try this in a different shade some day. Too much shimmer
Yikes. This has some cool colors in it but the "glittery" look is a little much for me. And although the texture is very soft, my skin was just too sensitive for me to enjoy it. Good
I do like this highlighter, it gives a nice noticable but natural glow to cheeks and browbones. I wouldn't say that I reach for this as much as my Extra Dimension Skinfinish in Superb or Benefit's High Beam put it's still a contender. I do wish this didn't have so much glitter, it's not super chunky put on days when my pores are the size of the sun it gives no mercy. Another big thing with this product is the brush you use to apply. I almost returned it at first because I could get hardly an pigmentation when using in conjunction with my Eco Tools blush brush. MAC Mineralize Skinfinish
I have just about every one othe shades that MAC has made. I love baked makeup, and I love the versatility of these little compacts of beauty. I use them on my eyes, as a bronzer, as a highlighter, and a contouring powder. i love the subtle shimmer, and they wear beautifully. They are also beautifully swirls of coordinated colors and blened together the effect is remarkably lovely. I like the sleek compact, they are really elegant, and since you don't have to use a lot of product because of the concentrated pigment content, they last forever. They are not so shimmery that you look oily or too shiny, just a nice naturally glowing finish. I love that I have so many because it gives me so many options depending on my mood. The powders are silky, buildable and blendable, you can go from subtle to striking so easily. They are some of my best investments as far as a multi use product goes. I love how MAC brings out new blends in some of their collections, seasonal and other wise. I can't wait to see the new ones they introduce. Great Highlighter and Bronzer
These work great to give you a nice sheen of bronze. Its very illuminating, so if you want a bit of glow this will do the trick. Its great for contouring the cheekbones also and they are very pigmented. They wear very well and they go on smoothly. Gorgeous
I have been a big fan of MAC's mineralized products for a long time. Leaves your skin beautiful. The colors are really versatile with all skin tones, and it's just a hint of shimmer and really a perfect finishing touch to your face. A little bit goes a long way, so it will last you for a long time. I am still using "Shooting Star", a limited edition from 2 years ago, and it's less than halfway through. Great Highlighter/Blush
I was afraid of this when I saw it at the MAC store, but the clerk insisted I try it on and I was glad I did. It wasn't too shimmery like I thought it was going to be, it actually looked really pretty on. Maybe because I have olive skin, maybe because I have a slight tan...who knows. I really liked it and of course I bought it and use it often.
