MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Reviews

Too much glitter.
LipglossandSpandex (487 reviews)I have this in Soft and Gentle, which is probably best used as a highlighter. It is quite sparkly and frosty, and I try to use it sparingly. There's quite a bit of product, and I do like that it's baked, but it's not something I ever really reach for. Maybe another shade would change my mind about this product, but as for now, I'm not really in love with this product. UPDATE: I also have this in "Crystal Pink" from MAC's recent Semi Precious collection. I received it to test out for We Heart This. "Crystal Pink" is a sheer, light pink shimmer. It adds quite a bit of sparkle to my face. I tried to use just a small amount over my matte blush, and the look was nice. It adds a healthy glow to your face. However, I had to be very careful not to pick up too much product. There is a generous amount of product in each compact, especially given how little I use per application, so the $28 price tag isn't too bad, if you like using highlighters. I personally don't use highlighters often, and definitely not super shimmery ones. The wear time is so-so--it seems that the shimmer comes off rather easily/there's a bit of fall out. To be honest, I don't understand the draw of MAC MSF's. They do look pretty, all swirled and domed in the compact. But I don't feel that they're a particularly useful product. I have large pores, and this much shimmer tends to accentuate it. The amount of sparkle also seems a little bit much, even for me (I'm 25 years old). — 10 months, 2 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

MissPurple (581 reviews)I love this compact, but I thought it was a highlighter/bronzer this whole time. — 10 months, 2 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Too much shimmer
leo1999 (560 reviews)Yikes. This has some cool colors in it but the "glittery" look is a little much for me. And although the texture is very soft, my skin was just too sensitive for me to enjoy it. I reacted after a very short while. But I got it as a gift so I didn't have to pay for it. — 3 years, 11 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 5 people said helpful

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish
lesa5363 (347 reviews)I have just about every one othe shades that MAC has made. I love baked makeup, and I love the versatility of these little compacts of beauty. I use them on my eyes, as a bronzer, as a highlighter, and a contouring powder. i love the subtle shimmer, and they wear beautifully. They are also beautifully swirls of coordinated colors and blened together the effect is remarkably lovely. I like the sleek compact, they are really elegant, and since you don't have to use a lot of product because of the concentrated pigment content, they last forever. They are not so shimmery that you look oily or too shiny, just a nice naturally glowing finish. I love that I have so many because it gives me so many options depending on my mood. The powders are silky, buildable and blendable, you can go from subtle to striking so easily. They are some of my best investments as far as a multi use product goes. I love how MAC brings out new blends in some of their collections, seasonal and other wise. I can't wait to see the new ones they introduce. I haven't been disappointed yet! — 2 years, 6 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Great Highlighter and Bronzer
makeupbyjanalyn (154 reviews)These work great to give you a nice sheen of bronze. Its very illuminating, so if you want a bit of glow this will do the trick. Its great for contouring the cheekbones also and they are very pigmented. They wear very well and they go on smoothly. The value and size of this product I feel is worth the price. — 1 year, 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Love MAC!
mvap47 (345 reviews)Again, MAC has not let me down! Goes on smooth, looks great, I tend to be a bit cheap, but I have no problem spending over $20 on this!! — 4 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Gorgeous
ModernDayWriter (196 reviews)I have been a big fan of MAC's mineralized products for a long time. Leaves your skin beautiful. The colors are really versatile with all skin tones, and it's just a hint of shimmer and really a perfect finishing touch to your face. A little bit goes a long way, so it will last you for a long time. I am still using "Shooting Star", a limited edition from 2 years ago, and it's less than halfway through. Highly recommended. — 4 years, 4 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 3 of 3 people said helpful

Great Highlighter/Blush
BellezzaBeauty (64 reviews)I was afraid of this when I saw it at the MAC store, but the clerk insisted I try it on and I was glad I did. It wasn't too shimmery like I thought it was going to be, it actually looked really pretty on. Maybe because I have olive skin, maybe because I have a slight tan...who knows. I really liked it and of course I bought it and use it often. It lasts all day, and gives my skin a healthy and natural glow. — 11 months, 1 week agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Love, Love, Love!
LaSarah (48 reviews)Depending on which MSFs you purchase, and how you apply, these reviews can go in all sorts of directions. Yes, some of them can be overly glittery and make you look like a disco ball if you apply all over your face with a large fluffy brush. For me, I tend to use most of them as a highlighter and stick to my cheekbones. It's important that you not apply toward your nose, otherwise the glitter/shimmer will amplify your pores and make them more noticeable. I usually use a MAC 109 or 188 brush to apply and when buff into the skin. For me, they give that extra "something" that really polishes off your makeup look. — 4 months, 2 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Makes pores more visible
kanarowski (6 reviews)I've never been satisfied with this product or any of the MAC Mineralize products with shimmer because of the way that it makes my pores more visible. Many other MAC products are great but this isn't one I prefer. — 5 months, 1 week agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful
