A mixed bag of interesting tricks

    by wondersly (4 reviews)
Because there are so many varieties of Lush soap - and new ones being created all the time, you really have to try to know if you like it. However, there is one staple soap that is broadly considered excellent. Karma. It lasts, it smells incredible and it will not produce allergic reactions even in the most sensitive i...ndividuals. As for the other soaps, they are completely up to personal taste. Some are creamier, some offer interesting aromas and some are created to address specific concerns. Thankfully, Lush often offers free samples of their soaps so you can try before you buy. Not only that, but if you purchase a soap that you try and don't like you can bring it in for an exchange. Not a bad deal for a bar of soap! February 21, 2008, 2:18 pm

Lush soaps are the best soaps ever invented!

    by Inny (30 reviews)
    Trusted Review
I absolutely adore all Lush soaps! I have tried great many of them, but sadly my all time favorite soap - the Avowash - recently got discontinued. It was the best soap I had ever used in my life, and my husband agreed it was the same for him as well! We purchased a big block of it while they still had it in stores and I ...am happily saving every bit of it - using it sparingly - while at every shower I now regularly use a different Lush soap - no other soap will ever do after you try one of Lush soaps!!! My other favorite soap is Karma. Its fragrance works for both men & women (unisex) and it is absolutely heavenly! Other favorites include SULTANA OF SOAP (Oh I could shower all day long with Sultana - that's how wonderful it is!!!), ROCK STAR (great one!), Oh-La-La, Honey I Washed The Kids (made with honey!!), Alkmaar, Figs and Leaves, Mud Flats, I Should Coco, Gratuitous Violets, Sandstone & Sexy Peel. Believe it or not - I have each of these soaps in my collection (some I've purchased as a block, and others I was given as samples when I visit the store - LUSH is VERY GENEROUS that way - they want you to try any soap of the block you wish!!! Their customer service is OUTSTANDING!!!). I'll NEVER use another soap except Lush varieties!!! February 17, 2008, 7:35 am

    Sultana of Soap

    by calicokitty (162 reviews)
    Top 100 ReviewerTrusted Review
I LOVE this scent. This is one of the more "sophisticated" sexy scents out of the Lush soap line. Creamy and fruity with a little spice & floral notes. This soap tends to melt faster than other Lush soaps so it helps to "cure" the soap. One minor thing: the dried fruits sprinkled on one end of th...e bar break off as the soap disinigrates and can clog your bath drain. But at least your whole bathroom will smell wonderful (as will you - the scent lingers well on your skin)! November 15, 2007, 6:06 am

    Rockstar Soap. I say Boo!

    by christinexcore (27 reviews)
    Trusted Review
I tried the Rockstar soap, and while it made my skin literally squeak, I was insanely dry and had to moisturize like a mad woman. The color is great (I like pink), but I ended up smelling like Rockstar energy drinks. If you work in a dirty place, like construction sites, or something similar use this, but otherwise, I'd use... something a little gentler. May 9, 2008, 7:42 am

    Fantastic Soaps

Excellent soap even for those with super sensitive skin. Definitely worth the price point for us. A few of my favorites include Honey I Washed the Kids (our "standard" soap), Snowcake (only available around the holidays - buy enough to last you all year - the almond scent is wonderful), and Sultana of Soap (excell...ent for layering with most of my perfumes). Angel's Delight Soap

    by sandoz28 (3 reviews)
This is the pink & purple bar with the stars, and is a holiday item. I LOVE the smell of this soap. It's so amazing (like fruit punch)that I want to eat it! Love the colors too--so girly and fun. However, there are stars embedded in the soap, and they really hurt, so I pick them out. Also a little disappointed that the ...smell doesn't last, but it smells great in the shower. As with any regular soap, it's not moisturizing, so you'll probably want to use lotion afterwards if you have dry skin. November 30, 2007, 1:21 pm

Sexy Peel scent will fill your entire bathroom/closet/etc.!

    by sarahmb (8 reviews)
Sexy Peel soap was my first experience with the Lush brand. Loved it...it smelled up my entire closet before I used it and then my entire bathroom while in use...it's a great wake-you-up and get-you-energized citrus scent. I found that I had to remove it from my shower in between uses so that it wouldn't continue to melt aw...ay while my roommate bathed. November 30, 2007, 12:18 pm

    Dangerous chemicals are not natural.

    by agrinter (23 reviews)
These "natural" soaps containing only "safe" synthetic chemicals happen to be made with Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. Not familiar with the chemical? Here's a few of it's best qualities: Tests show permanent eye damage in young animals from skin contact in non eye areas. Studies at Georgia Medical College ind...icated Sodium Lauryl Sulfate kept young eyes from developing properly by possibly denaturing the proteins and not allowing for proper structural formation. This damage was permanent. Sodium Lauryl Sulfate enters and maintains residual levels in the heart, the liver, the lungs and the brain from skin contact. SLS may be damaging to the immune system, especially within the skin. Skin layers may separate and inflame due to its protein denaturing properties. Good stuff. April 15, 2009, 1:39 pm

Melts faster than butter on a Texas afternoon

    by RavenLoudspeakr (231 reviews)
    Top 100 ReviewerTrusted Review
Okay all of these smell awesome. Just plain awesome. I wish we can review every individual one rather than all at once..The creamier ones like Alkmaar melt much faster but moisturize more. The more clearer ones like Extra Virgin Olive, Angel's Delight, or Ice Blue don't melt as fast but are more dying. Plus Extra Virgin Oli...ve has TWIGS in it! Ouch! The bottom line is a full chunk never lasts me over a month, and that's with keep it super dry in between showers so it's not worth it. Also makes me feel like a rubber chicken after using it. Alkamaar and Mud Flats!

    by NoraCharles (88 reviews)
    Top 500 ReviewerTrusted Review
Alkamaar is so lovely, soft, creamy, the best, soft floral scent. Mud Flats is a little citrusy and the mud makes it feel very detoxifying. Both are a great value. However, they're the only nice soaps. The others are drying and/or smell horrible. May 13, 2008, 6:09 am
