Wonderful staying power!
I have oily skin and stopped using eyeshadow years ago becaucse they would not last and would crease after about an hour. My mom told me about these and I now use them daily. They are thick (you don't need a lot), but can be layered and applied as heavy or light as you want. I have several colors and love their versatility. Honestly...
not my fav. Must Have
This is a necessity. Apply a shade close to your natural skintone before applying eyeshadow. It does not crease and hold eyeshadow on, making it look smooth and flawless. Eye shadow without this crucial first step never looks the same. I won't but anything on my lid without this first! Great for color and as a base!
I have mixed results with cream eye shadows. On one hand, cream shadows can deliver a level of vibrancy and sheen that powders can't match. But on the other, they can often be difficult to work with and/or lead to premature creasing as the oils from your skin mix with the shadow. So when I saw how creamy these paint pots were in comparison to MAC's original paints I was skeptical. Creaminess u...read moresual leads to my makeup ending up as an oil slick by the end of the day. But not with these! They go on thick and creamy, but dry to a powdery finish that stays put all day long. The fleshtone shades like Painterly work very well as bases for other shadows. They keep your shadows in place and also helps them apply more vibrantly. It's the more colorful ones that really make me excited about this product though. Particularly some of the frosty and metallic ones, as they produce a glam finish that I couldn't hope to achieve with powder shadow. Delft, a beautiful teal, is my particular favorite. These shadows work beautifully both as shadows and liners, and the amount of product you get is pretty generous for the price tag so these are a great value. Also, just as a tip, I've found these tend to apply best using brushes with firm synthetic bristles. I will never use a liner or a liquid brush ever again because this product is absolute perfection!
I love this! The black is blacker than any other liner i've ever used! I constantly get compliments on it, and girls at work even started copying my look because of it! I love it because I can do a simple cat eye, and it's not like liqud where you have to go back with a qtip to make it perfect every time. This is the bizness!!!
I just LOVE MAC's Paint Pot collection...I can wear this stuff all by itself or use it as a base for my eyeshadows. This is the real deal...you can go out on a hot, humid day and your eyes will still look fantastic. The only thing is the application...you better get it right because, once it is on your lids it will be horrid if you make a mistake. Couldn't live without my Paint Pots
I absolutely LOVE Paint Pots. I use Rubinesque every day as a base and/or shadow alone. I use a brush to paint it from my lid up to my brow and then use either shadows or pigment on the eyelid. If I want to use it as a base I do just that and the shadow/pigment stays PERFECTLY. Even if I happen to fall asleep (big no no!) in my makeup I wake up and it still looks fresh.
