    Uncertain

I am really glad for these reviews! I bought Painterly thinking that is was MAC's eye shadow primer. Now I come to find it is a cream eyeshadow! I feel it does work well as a primer, but it is dry, which was my problem with Urban Decay's Potion in the Nude color - WAY too dry. I hate to take this back, but... Trish McEvoy's Eye Base Essentials may be the winner in the end. This is because h...read moreer product is pinkish and moist, and that is my skin tone and what my skin needs = moisture. Plus, I feel the wand is faster to use than my finger. And, no chance of the product drying up.

    Painterly the best shade ever!

I purchased my painterly paint pot 1 year ago...I use it at least a few times a week both as an eye and under eye primer...it sets my under eye corrector perfectly! It looks like it will last for another year or so. Also makes eye shadow more vibrant looking.

Versatile - as a base or on its own

I love Mac Paint Pots. I have them in Indian Wood, Constructivist and Painterly. These paint pots are very versatile to use it on its own or as a base. I use Constructivist and Indian wood when lazy days are in and they lasts for about 4 - 5 hours on my eyelid. Painterly is a great color base for all skin tone and use it sparingly because they do crease a little if you over apply. Giuliana Rancic love Indian Wood for her eyelid and I could not agree more. Love it

Can be used in alot of ways.

I absolutely adore this color. I adore paint pots in general. I have many, but this is my first really matte color, I enjoy it because it's not too shiny or sparkly. All my others are for like dressing up and stuff. But if I want a really neutral eye or just even a base. I always go to painterly first! I couldn't recommend it enough! If you're on the paler side it blends very well with your skin t...read moreone. MAC paint pots in general never stick to your lid. They work as a base or just even an all over lid color. It's such a pretty color even though it's matte. Sometimes I use it on my brow bone because I draw in my eyebrows and the paint pot makes it look more defined. It isn't streaky, and it is just all around a great product! I suggest everyone should invest in a paint pot sometime if their lives! They're amazing!

    Okay Base, Awful Primer

I purchased the shade is Soft Ocre in hopes of using it as an actual primer and not just a base. First time I used this Paint Pot my eyeshadow creased terribly and I was instantly disappointed. I then decided to just use it as a base because it could have creased on account of my extremely oily eyelids. During the warmer months in New Jersey it works as a great base when used with one of my favori...read morete shadows, Heaven by Too Faced. But, during the cold months, when many people's face are naturally dryer, I cannot use it at all. It clings to every wrinkle or dry path on my eyes and is super uncomfortable. You would also think since it is so dry on my eye it would not crease, but it does. Regardless of the weather I have experimented with the amount I apply, how I apply it, and where on the eye I apply it and no matter what it creases. So I would say pass on this and check out the Maybelline Color Tattoos, although they do not have a comparable shade to Soft Ocre...
