A Must for Lipstick Lovers
I have issues with lipsticks bleeding out into the fine lines around my lips. Using lip liner and matte lipsticks helps, but I prefer a more satin finish for most lipsticks. I am sad that it took me so long to realize this product was available. It makes all the difference when wearing bold lipstick colors. This applies just like a really light lip balm. It feels nice on my lips. The smell is light and thankfully does not taste of anything. I make sure to apply this slightly outside the lines of my lips to help further prevent any color bleeding out. I wait about a minute or so, then apply my lipstick. I usually apply the lip color straight from the bullet without using lip liner and the colors go on beautifully and easily and they really stay put! This product is not going to turn your lipstick into a full on stain, so eating and drinking will still cause your lipstick to wear off as it normally would. What this does is preps the lips for lipstick just like a foundation primer preps your face. It smooths over the lines in your lips and gives your lipstick something to stick to, so it doesn't settle into those lines or run outside of your mouth. I do notice that my lipsticks last for longer when I use this and the lipstick fades more evenly. I get dry, peely (gross!) lips and this helps prevent that while I wear it. This product makes wearing lipstick so much more easy and comfortable. You won't have to worry about getting a bunch of different lip liners to match each shade of lipstick you have just to make your color stay. This is $16, which may seem like a lot for a simple lip balm, but this does so much more than that. This is the same price as a MAC lip liner or lipstick and it will eliminate the need for buying tons of lip liner while making the lipsticks already in your collection work so much better. For all this, I think $16 is a very reasonable price. I love everything about this product and won't wear most lipsticks without it! — 3 months, 4 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Stops Lipstick from Bleeding
I would recommend this for those of you who have a problem with your lipstick bleeding. It will keep your lipstick in place and will also make your lipcolor look more vibrant! The price is a bit high but its a great product to have on hand. If you use this often, it wont last very long. — 2 years, 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

The Best!
This is the only lip primer I have ever used that actually works. The SA at the MAC counter told me to put it on and let it set for a minute or so and then apply my lipstick as usual. When I put it on and wait the primer gets a bit tacky so I know it is ready. You don't need a lot, just coat your lips, don't slather it on like chapstick on cracked lips or anything. I have even used this with Clinique's Almost Lipstick and it stays on for hours! I have never been able to keep that stuff on for very long at all so that is a major feat to me. — 5 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 5 of 6 people said helpful

Great for use with all lipcolours.
I tend to shy away from any lip colour that is not deeply pigmented or matte (personal preference) and I find that with the MAC mattes this primer is not strictly necessary - I do still use it to smooth things over. However, with any of the non-mattes, regardless of brand, it is absolutely essential. It is weightless and goes on smoothly, with no odd smells or tastes. — 10 months, 1 week agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

Does it job
I used this product first before going out the a club and it kept the lipstick on for the entire night, even with smoking and drinking. The price is quite a bit high and it does run out quickly, so I mainly recommend it for those that find they are always having to reapply their lip color or find that it bleeds too much. I has that problem and was using Revlon's Just Bitten Lipstains and while I loved the colors and applicators, the only problem was how much it dried out my lips. MACs prep and prime was a great switch in my opinion. — 1 year, 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 2 people said helpful

THERE IS A TRICK TO USING THIS PRODUCT!!! READ ME!
I do actually like this product… But I only use Mac lip liners and lipsticks, and I personally find just the lipstick to be sufficient enough, so therefore don’t really require a primer unless I’m using a high gloss lipstick. This does keep it from bleeding, and does fill all those little lines and what not on your lips, which makes it nice and smooth. I was reading some of the reviews, and I’m thinking some of you aren’t using it right. YOU ARE NOT supposed to apply your lipsticks directly afterwords!!! This needs some time to set in order for it to be effective. I’ll put it on, do the rest of my make up and then do my lips. Rule of thumb, when you put the primer on, and if you’re able to slide your finger (LIGHTLY) across your lip - it’s not ready. If you’re not able to slide your finger with ease, then it’s ready to lacquered!!! I hope this helps ☺ — 2 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 4 of 5 people said helpful

Extends lip color
I started using this before I apply the long lasting lip luster (sorry for the tongue twister), and I noticed that the lip color stayed put for much longer than when I didn't use the primer. I haven't tried it with other lip products, but I highly recommend for MAC's long wear stuff. — 4 years, 3 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Not bad
I find it works much better with matte lipsticks than it does with creamy or satin finish ones. You do have to let it dry slightly to a tacky finish and then apply your lipstick. Made lipstick application very smooth and I like the way it felt on my lips which is very light and not gooey. I didn't notice a big change in the way my lipstick looked though. If anything, it just made it look smoother. Length of wear is about average. I tried using it under lip gloss to see if it will make it last a bit longer. Unfortunately, it doesn't work too well with glosses. — 4 years, 6 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Makes lipstick last
The secret to making this work is to let it dry a minute to let it get tacky and then apply the lipstick or liner...it will last longer for sure... — 5 years, 5 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Nice texture
I always use this before applying lipcolor. It helps to keep my gloss from moving around and also keeps it looking more even, rather than moving into the outer corners it wears more evenly through the day. — 5 years, 4 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful
