Good Basic Balm
This is a good basic balm to have handy in your purse or desk. It does help chapped or dry lips feel smooth and comforted. — 4 years, 8 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

rough skin softener
I had read about this in a magazine. When I saw it at my Sephora store I decided to give it a try. So glad I did. This has softened the rough skin on my ankles and elbows. I also use a light layer for my hands before bed. I absolutely love the light floral scent as opposed to other salves I've tried before. I wish this came in a jumbo-size tin. — 1 year, 12 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 1 people said helpful

Great!
I have used this stuff for years. I really like it in the winter, when my lips get chapped. Excellent product. — 2 years, 6 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Great balm and perfect for dry spots like heels and elbows
The main ingredient in this salve is cottonseed oil and petroleum jelly (or the petrolatum base). If you aren't a fan of petroleum jelly, you probably won't like this stuff. However if you like the moisturizing properties of petroleum jelly and wish it smelled better and rubbed in better, this stuff is great. I love using it as a light lip gloss because it isn't as sticky as gloss and keeps my lips soft. It is also nice for cracked heels, but I must admit a bit pricey to be slathering all over my dry spots. Has a light rose scent. — 4 years, 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Good god, this lasts YEARS.
Be careful to keep your fingers clean before and after application, to avoid transferring germs into your jar--because this will last so long that it's insane. I use it to moisturize my lips, but also for dry spots on my body. It's a bit greasy, so I would beware using it on your face aside from your lips. The faint rose smell is also very pleasant, and I love the vintage packaging. — 4 years, 8 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Okay, but not perfect
This is nice for a few reasons: it smells good (very light), it gives a good semi-gloss finish on lips, and it's a good emergency hand moisturizer. However, it doesn't quite live up to its reputation in my experience. It is not as moisturizing on my lips as some claim it to be (they get dry/peely just as quickly as when I'm not using this). I will continue to use-up the tin I currently have, but it's a bit pricey for how well it performs and I'm not sure I'll be buying this again. — 2 years, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Classic!
I bought this on a whimp on a recent vacation because silly me had forgotten my Vaseline, which I used on my really dry skin (it was winter). The clerk told me it was better than Vaseline, and had a plesent scent. After spending $ on it, I tried it. Opening the tin, I was plesently suprised to smell it, it smelled wonderful! Then---the lips. It smoothed and softened my dry, chapped lips, moiusturizing them. And it looked like a very subtle, pink gloss, which was beautiful with my fair skin. Overall, this is a fabulous product. No wonder why its been so popular all these years! I prefer the tin over the tube, just because it's easier to use other places with the tin. Will reccomend! — 1 year, 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

aromatherapy
I first heard about this in a list of top-rated lip balms, and then when I saw it in Sephora I thought it was so charmingly retro I had to get it. It looked like something my grandmother would have used. I decided I don't like to use it on my lips because of the taste, but I've discovered it's a wonderful product to massage into my hands and feet at the end of a long, tiring day, when I've collapsed in front of the TV. My hands and feet end up wonderfully moisturized, and the light rosebud fragrance is good for the soul. — 2 weeks, 1 day agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Love, but Not My Favorite
I love this lip salve...it's amazing in the winter, gives a nice shine ...but it's not my favorite because it gets slippery and can get kind of cakey when mixed with certain lipsticks. Not a good look. I do also like it for moisturizing really dry elbows or putting on burns, it really does help. I definitely think everyone should have a tin or two somewhere ...just for all purpose uses. — 1 month, 3 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Not loving the scent
This product is quaintly packaged and appears adorable. The smooth application and long lasting moisture makes this product worth purchasing. My winter lips are loving their new smooth appearance. However, I am not loving the scent. It reminds me more of a soap or floral perfume more than a salve/balm, and is not muted. I prefer my lip products to have a sweet smell or none at all. — 5 months, 3 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful
