Good for acne prone skin

I would say if you have acne prone skin or oily skin to give this a try. It is rather drying for normal to dry skin. I personally do not like cleansing bars because of the lingering bacteria. I would rather they made this into some type of liquid cleanser. Again use it if you have oily or acne prone skin. Stay away if you have normal to dry skin and aren't fond of bacteria on your cleansing bars. — 3 months ago

This will wash every trace of oil and makeup off your face. Doesn't irritate your skin, but be careful not to get the suds in your eyes. The bar lasts a long time and you get weeks of uses out of one bar. — 2 years, 9 months ago

Good for very oily skin

Normally I have very dry skin and this would be way to drying for me, but I spent a summer in a very humid area and ended up having to wash my skin multiple times a day just to stay comfortable and this was perfect. The smell is very tomatoe-y and it seems a bit acidic. It left my skin feeling fresh and taut when it was feeling oily and I'd feel like it was clean for a longer time. When the weather got less humid this became too drying, so I wouldn't recommend it for normal, dry or sensitive skin; the Burt's Lettuce complexion soap would be a better choice for you. Still, overall a good complexion bar. — 3 years ago

i'm not too thrilled with this soap and i don't think it really does much acne fighting at all. it's very sudsy and smells very tomato-y when used. it left my skin feeling very, very tight after i used it and couldn't wait to put moisturizer on after washing my face. — 2 months, 3 weeks ago

Overall like but not amazing

This product didn't necessarily get rid of my acne or even help it. however the rest of my face really benefitted from it overall. It seemd to help relax the skin and get rid of redness and roughness. I really liked the feel of it, as I do with most Burt's Bees products. I wouldn't buy this on a regular basis but I would say there is a definate feeling of doing the greater good for your skin with this product. — 3 months ago

Love the scent, hate the dry skin

I bought this soap after smelling it without reading any reviews, which was my first mistake. My second mistake was buying a product formulated for oily skin even though I have very dry skin. Of course, the soap only made my skin more dry. The more dry my skin becomes, the more breakouts I get. It was just bad news all around.Maybe this product wouldn't adversely effect someone with oily skin, so I'll still give it four stars. — 1 year, 7 months ago

I have never been one to use a bar soap for my face. But this bar of soap has made me change my mind! I have very oily skin. So I get the occasional pimple. I have never used a facewash before that made my face feel as clean and this tomato soap does. I can see how it might be too drying for someone without oily skin. I don't care for the tomato smell, but it is so very mild. My face looks and feels so much healthier. That could possible be due to all the natural antioxidents in this face soap!! Wonderful product. And at $8 a bar, it is cheaper than most facewashes. — 1 year, 10 months ago
