Garnier Fructis Style Brilliantine Shine Water-Based Shine Wax Reviews

Excellent Product for the Money!
I have been really impressed with this product since I began using it. Especially since it replaced a salon brand product I was using that cost about 4 times as much. I have these annoying, wispy "baby" hairs around my hairline and this keeps them in place and under control! Additionally, the scent is wonderful- it reminds me of the meadow behind behind my house after a spring rain. And I also give thanks to bayou_glam for the flat iron tip! She is right on the money with that one! — 2 years, 8 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Not shiny!
This makes your hair wet, therefore making it appear shiny, but it's not as shiny as if you used silicone based products. This makes hair clumpy and stuck together, so it's hard to spread thinly, and it feels somewhat dirty. It's better to use silicone serums or silicone shine sprays with styling product to get better results. — 3 years, 5 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Life Saver
I got butchered at a salon that my bf highly recommended - lets just say a gal took thinning scissors to the very top of my head, in sections - so I was left with some VERY short pieces of hair mixed in with my longer hair - I knew I could hide it in a pony or a headband, but there were some pieces around my hairline that were sticking up like Alph-alpha's hair - this really held those little suckers down and didn't leave any evidence that I had used product. At such a low cost, I highly recommend to give it a try. — 4 years, 9 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Great product for the price!
The scent of this line is pretty fabulous and used sparingly this is a great wax. For very short hair it gives a shiny piecey look. With longer hair I'd use just a tiny dab to put a bit of body in the bangs, add shine and keep down flyaways. Be careful not to use to much or it will look greasy not shiny. If you are looking for a lot of hold, I'd recommend trying something else unless you want a very shiny mane (as in looking oily). I love how inexpensive this wax is. — 4 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Thank you SO much bayou_glam for your review!
BAYOU_GLAM: I read your review on this product and tried the method you use for flat ironing with this product. It worked amazingly well!! My flatironing time was cut in half and like you mentioned, I needed ZERO hairspray after I was done. My hair was shiny, soft and stayed straight and frizz free all day. This is an AWESOME product! The only caution is to be careful not to use too much near the roots, cause it can look greasy in that area. Otherwise, I hope this is one product Garnier NEVER discontinues!! — 3 years, 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

My #1 styling product (especially for curling w/ flat iron)
I absoloutely love and cannot live without this product!!! INSANELY Perfect for curling or straightening hair - Say goodbye to hairspray forever!!! If I am straightening my hair, I take a thin amount (ab the size of a tic tac or less) and rub it into my hands and then go over sections of my hair with it after straightening. It helps my hair to stay straight, smooth, and shinny, and also helps with the frizzy/fly aways near my roots. My 100% FAVORITE thing to do with it is to use it when i am curling my hair with a flat iron. I section out my hair into 3 layers, starting at the bottom. I rub a small amount into my hands - (very thin layer but so my hands are covered and shiny) i then go over the whole layer of my hair, then flat ironing the section about .5 inch to one inch chunks at a time. I get INCREDIBLE RESULTS. The best part is that I don't have to use hair spray so my hair stays smooth, bouncy and natural looking. My normal hair is super funky but this product is awesome. The curl stays in my hair ALL DAY start to end - and even has considerable curl in it on day 2!!! Not sure if this is what it is intended for but it literally changed my life! — 3 years, 3 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 2 people said helpful

I like this stuff
I like Redken's water wax the best of course but since the economy has taken a turn for the worst I can no longer afford the Redken. Not for as much water wax as I use anyhow. I tried this one day ($3.00 at WalMart) and I was actually impressed. It is not as thick but still did the job that I was looking for. I would recommend this to anyone who cannot afford the more expensive hair products. If you do not like it, its not like you will be out a lot of money either. — 11 months, 2 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 1 people said helpful

A few issues...
I have problems with this product being too greasy. The amount you use is either not enough or too much nad there is no in between. If you don't use enough, then your style has no holding power. If you use too much then your hair becomes heavy and the style doesn't hold. If you are only using this for the shine factor however a good alternative for this product is the Garnier Fructis Shine spray. But overall this product isn't all that great. — 3 years, 9 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful
