The handle is actually a similar shaped comb that you can use to separate lashes after application, if need be. I have not used the comb, as I found the mascara to glide on and coat my lashes in just a few strokes.

You can Wear This All Night

I hate taking time to do any beauty stuff in the morning. I put this on at night and when I wake up It is still good.

Don't believe the hype

I had high hopes for this mascara. I mean...a mascara that stays on for three days! A mascara made of volcanic ash! How exciting! Then I bought it. I applied it. It was sticky and fiberous. The directions, which are long and involved, told me not to "touch my eyes with my fingers" when I washed my face (????). What a bummer. And still, even following the directions, I find these long skinny black threads like spiders legs on my face cloth. A remnant of the volcanic ash.

Ho-hum.

It's okay. The formula is watery-thin and definitely does not add length, volume, or curl. It will tint the lashes, if that's what you're looking for. You can build up layer upon layer of it if that's the effect you want but it flakes fast upon drying, especially the more layers you've put on there. Revlon did a better job with their COLORSTAY mascara back from 2004. (Darn, I wish it had neve...read morer been discontinued!!) LORAC's version will not withstand rubbing your eyes (which Revlon's DID) but nor will it bind with water and gum up your lashes (like Revlon's, alas). They need to offer it in more colors. The lash comb is a nice addition, but only adds to landfills when you throw away the mascara. And they need to stop with the "first-ever long-wearing mascara" promo sound byte. Do your research, people. I give it an 8 for it's tinting abilities...but a 4 for it's abilities as a mascara and the fact it only comes in black and black-brown (hello, auburn, brown, or navy??). Average: 6.

never thick

i love this product. anyone looking for the perfect mascara this is it. it goes on beautifully and never clumps. the applicators give a very even coating and separates every little lash. even in the hottest of summers it never goes on clumpy or smudges with the humidity or sweating. ican even use this when i go running with no worrys. you have to try this. prettymichelle

Great idea -- in theory

A longlasting mascara is a great idea -- in theory. But if you also wear eyeshadow and/or liner, you're going to be removing your eye makeup at night anyway. So mascara that can last for days is only really useful when, say, camping or doing something where you may wear minimal makeup and won't be removing the mascara.

smudge-proof for sure!!!

If you are looking for a long lasting, smudge-proof, water-proof mascara - give LORAC Publcity Stunt a try. I have had bad luck finding a mascara that could withstand my (bad!) habit of rubbing my eyes - and all too often would find my mirror image resembling a racoon. This product was recommended to me by a sales associate at Sephora a few weeks ago and I really like it. LOVE IT

I love this mascara. The brown black color looks really natural, and while I wouldn't recommend leaving it on for three days like they say you can, it definitely makes your lashes pop. I received a free sample of this mascara from Sephora a few months ago and have been a loyal purchaser ever since. I have the black for a really popping eye effect and the brown-black for everyday use.
