This Should TAKE A BOW!

One of the benefits of having auburn hair is that it gets a lot of attention. One of the detriments is finding a brown product in a shade which actually matches and looks natural (most companies make shades for blondes and brunettes; if they make something for auburn-haired women, it's often far too orange). These colors are fantastic, not too light nor too brown, and blend for a brow that looks exactly like your own, only better. Wax is included. I love to apply it with the stiff-bristled brush included and brush my brows slightly upward and outward for a wide-awake, sexy look. I'm taking away a star because of the container, but I really don't have a problem with it.

Did not like.

First off, the packaging is a PAIN to open. It takes a lot of playing around to be able to get it open. It is recommended to use the darker color on the outside arch of the brow and use the lighter color on the inside part. However, I often bypass this by applying the same shadow wet which makes it darker and more intense on the outside, and apply it dry which is softer and lighter on the inside. ...read moreTherefore, the second color is useless to me. Third, I have never been a fan of waxes. Although some people work best with grooming wax, I am perfectly happy with the more lightweight alternative of a brow setting gel. Therefore, I had to return this.

Colors did not work well together....

I dont know why the lady at Sephora recommended this saying that it was their bestseller for brow kits. Judging by the reviews i would say she's lying. This was actually my first brow kit i've tried just to see if i would like it. Needless to say i hated this one. Despite all the reviews on this being hard to open, i had no problem at all. Anyways the one she gave me had a dark brown color and a black color then the wax that comes with it. I never enjoyed using the wax. It makes my eyebrows look shiny and unnatural. As you can see the colors do not mesh well together. It is either too dark or not natural looking enough no matter how much i blend them to find the perfect shade. I have dark brown hair and even when i use just the dark brown color it ends up looking unnatural and too dark. There's also a lot of fallouts. The colors doesn't seem to be too well pigmented. I ended up buying a different brow kit from Milani to see if it would work better and it does! There's a light brown color and a dark brown color that i can play with. Now that's something i can work with having two relevant colors. Not black and dark brown which makes my eyebrows look fake.

very confusing

the box is really rediculous and when I compare it to the price I can't figure out why it costs as much as it does. You almost need a combination to figure out how to open the darn thing. Once you master the art of opening it, it really isn't anymore better than a cheaper form of brow definer.

Just No.

Groomed brows are very, very important to me, and I love the powder/wax combo - it seems to be the most effective. However, this particular product just turned into a huge mess. Way too pricey for something that I managed to use five or six times before the powders completely chunked up and fell apart. Also, be sure to use a seperate brush for your powder. Don't use the included brush for both powder and wax, or it will be an even bigger mess.

Favorite

This is how a brow product should be: just the right "chalkines." The heavy-looking powder is simply perfect when put on brows. I do like the brush, but the handle is harder to control so I use another angled brush. But otherwise, love the color, the pigmentation, and the brow wax!
