Clarifying, but can be too harsh
The idea behind this shampoo is that if your hair is less weighed down, it will have more volume. When I first tried this product, I loved it. It smells amazing and left my hair clean. Really clean. So clean I felt like I didn't need to shampoo every day. I guess I felt I had a little more volume and bounce to my hair. But unfortunately, it didn't work for me as a regular cleanser. It's more like a clarifying shampoo -- very good at removing build-up, but just too harsh for everyday use. After two weeks of using it, my hair was so dried out I had to switch back to Dove. Really good shampoo for its price :)
If you need a good volumizing shampoo that cleanses hair thoroughly, this is it. It cleans the gunk out of my hair, and rinses clean. A nice side effect is the smell too; I've gotten compliments that my hair smells good since I started using this! Really great shampoo!
This really lives up to its promises. I have coarse, dryish gray hair that is hard to style and keep sleek. This shampoo did the trick. I did not use any conditioner, just a little heat protection cream, and then blew it out as usual. It was easier to style (I blow it out smooth and straight) and it stayed smooth all day without those little frizzies that pop up on top. Makes My Hair Break Combs!
I grew my hair out for the first time since I was little last year. It's quite thick, but I was looking for root lift and more body, and I thought a volumizing shampoo might be a place to start. Turns out that simply thinning my hair would've done a better job than this. This shampoo made my thick hair a huge Brillo pad. The texture was worse than straw, and trying to comb it afterwards broke so many combs I don't remember the total. "Parting" my hair after using this product revealed an actual net of wiry, stiff hair with soap bubbles still embedded in weird places. If you already have thick hair and for some reason want more volume, I'd say don't use this. New Favorite Shampoo
I have been trying all different brands of drugstore shampoo, and this is by far my favorite. It smells nice, without being overpowering. It cleans my hair, without leaving it dried out.
