Herbal Essences Color Me Happy Shampoo Reviews

Not What I Expected
Several years ago Herbal Essences was my go to hair brand. All of their products have a lovely scent. I remembered really liking what some of their other shampoos and conditioners did for my hair. I ended up switching my shampoo and conditioner just to try something new and didn't return to this brand. When I coloured my hair I had to look for a new shampoo and conditioner b/c the brand I had been using, Aussie, did not have hair products for coloured hair. I decided to go back to this brand b/c I had liked it before and the products are very affordable. As I mentioned earlier they have a lovely scent to them. This product has helped extend the semi-permanent dye in my hair. I've had my hair dyed for about 4 weeks and I have seen very minimal fading. However, I am extremely disappointed in every other area. Before I only had to wash my hair every two or three days. This shampoo has made my extremely oily and caused a lot of build up. I have to wash my hair everyday with this shampoo. This is only going to make my dye fade faster, which is part of the reason I am impressed with how this product has prevented fading. In my opinion, the oil and build up outweighs the lack of fading — 10 months, 2 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Left my hair feeling very dry(my hair is normally not dry) and it stripped the color from my hair. — 1 year, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Color me Happy, too!
This is the first color treated hair shampoo that smells completely awesome, makes my hair shine with great brilliance, and no matter the weather, will stand up to anything! Goodbye grays, Color Me Happy, any old day! — 1 year, 5 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

One of my favorites
This is just about my favorite shampoo and conditioner. I feel that it moisturizes better than their hydrating shampoos. It is the best smelling product and everyone loves to sniff my hair. It also makes my hair intensely shiny. This is actually the same product from the old Herbal Essences line. It was in a rose printed bottle with a green cap. i think they may have added more hydrating properties, but the amazing smell remains the same. — 1 year, 7 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

Good product, somewhat drying
I like this shampoo. I alternate it with a lighter shampoo when I wash my hair because I find this one to be kind of drying. The good thing about this shampoo is that I always feel like my hair is clean after I use it... I get a good lather and it gets rid of buildup. However, using this every time I wash would be too harsh for my hair. — 2 years, 1 month agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

So drying.
I used to use this a couple of years back when I judged shampoos by the way they smelled (and this..this smells awesome). But now, I refuse to use herbal essences shampoos unless I need to get rid of build up because I moisturize so much. I have several old shampoos I keep stacked away because they still have quite a bit of product left, and this is one of them. People, please pay close attention to the ingredients. Asides from water, the primary ingredients in this are "SODIUM LAURETH SULFATE" and "SODIUM LAURYL SULFATE", which do the "cleaning", but these are VERY harsh. We've all heard of sulfates. Sulfates are the cause for the dryness of hair and fading of color. They DO remove dirt, but they also STRIP you hair of it's natural moisturizers, and also quickly cause your color to fade. Now, I don't color my hair, but I am an expert in this area. Look into sulfate-free shampoos if you want healthier hair, with color that lasts!
