Good Basic Mascara

This is a good basic mascara. I have to say that it did more to separate and lengthen my lashes than Guerlain's new "Cils D'Enfer." It's available in a black/brown shade for a softer look when desired. Smudging, clumping, and flaking were minimal. I'd much rather pay $5.00 for this than a fortune for a famous name which does nothing at all (actually, Guerlain made my lashes droop!).

Like this brand better than Maybelline mascaras...

I like how this mascara gives you the option of a straight brush or a curved brush. Because I find it easier to maneuver with a straight brush I bought the straight brush. It makes my lashes look super long. I was surprised especially since it's a drugstore brand and I think psychologically we all have it in our heads that super expensive brands might be better. I like how it doesn't clump after I...read more applied 2 or 3 coats of it. It doesn't seem to hold my curl well and that's why I gave it 8 stars. Also it doesn't thicken the way I wanted it to. After using this for a week, I find that the mascara dries really fast too. My tube looks like it's months old. I wanted that va va oomph to my lashes. Instead I got natural looking lashes--which would be great if that's what you're aiming for but me personally, I prefer thick bold lashes that doesn't smudge, clump or flake. Sad to say I'm still on the hunt for that "perfect" mascara but overall this is by far the best drugstore mascara I've ever used!!!

I don't really think this did much for my lashes. It gave a very natural look, but did tend to flake after a few hours. Like other CG mascaras, it needs to be replaced frequently as it dries out.

Good for those on a budget

I think this is a good mascara for those on a budget. I have tried the few mascaras in this price range (around $5 and under) and this is the best. I have days when it flakes, it seems to help if i've used loose powder to set my foundation.

Pretty darn good basic mascara

I am a fan of Cover Girl mascaras. They never fail to deliver and they are very reasonably priced! This one went on without clumps and didn't look like I had spider legs for lashes, a big plus in my book. I never seem to have smudging, raccoon eyes with Cover Girl mascara either. I would say this is a decently pigmented, medium coverage mascara. Your lashes are definitely more defined but still ap...read morepear more natural. I usually get Blackest Black and it looks great. Plus, if you want a more dramatic look, this one can layer without looking like a clown.

for the money, you are really getting a nice black finish in your eyelashes. i truely recommend this product to everyone in need of a great inexpensive mascara!

Great starter mascara!

This was the first mascara I ever used and I used it for years! I love that it comes with a curved brush making it easy to apply. It also comes in a bunch of colors in case you're like me and didn't want to go for the blackest black. They have black-brown and brown, too. Although I think this is true of all Cover Girl mascaras. They have a good variety and they even offer this same one in waterpro...read moreof. This wasn't anything too special, but it was very cheap and did what mascaras are meant to do! It added definition, a little length, and a little volume. It doesn't clump badly (a bit, but easy to fix) or smudge either. I have to say, I have no complaints and no raves about it. I've tried a lot of worse mascaras for a lot more money! Great for those starting out wearing makeup! :)

Great brand but quality.....

This brand has always been great and it is average priced but it doesn't really do much for your lashes! if you are looking for a little bit of definition this is for you but I was looking for more! It is alright but spend your money on something else! Avon mascara is actually pretty good if your looking for a good mascara!

pretty good

It's pretty good for it's money, but if you want the volume and length, then you might have to put on about 3 coats. Also, it flakes just a little. Other that that, it does good for your lashes.
