Lightweight, dries hair well but really noisy.

I like this hair dryer, it dries my long thick hair well. I don't like the fact that I have to use it during the day on a weekend because it is very noisy. I've had this blow dryer for about 2 years now and I haven't had any serious problems with it. It's not the best blow dryer out there but I think you should expect that given the price. I use mine on low to diffuse my curls and it works perfectly for that. I don't try to blow dry my hair straight with this because my hair will turn into a poofball! At first I thought it was the technique I was using but after trying it with a different blowdryer I found out it was just my blow dryer. Oh and another thing to look out for is this dryer can overheat quickly. You have to watch out for that. If you let it cool off then it should be good to go after a few minutes. I don't think I would recommend this dryer unless you only needed it to diffuse curly hair. I bought a pink one at Ulta and it caught on fire and sparked four months after my purchase. I have owned about 11 other blowdryers in the past and have never experienced this before. With my long hair I usually go through dryers quite frequently. I have had this for over a year and it is awsome. I like that it isn't super loud either. Makes drying my hair at 4am pretty nice without waking up my husband. I have had this blowdryer for 3 years or so, and it's good enough I suppose...the pink is super cute, and it was super affordable, and it's lasted me this long without any problems. It doesn't seem like it gets really hot though, and it takes longer to dry my hair than lots of other dryers do, however, those dryers are usually way more expensive! It's not a huge deal because I know it's not damaging my hair, and my hair definitely doesn't look fried like I blowdry the crap out of it every day. Blowdryers usually wear out quickly for me but I've had this for well over a year and have had no problems with it. The ionic switch really does make a difference. Good price too.
