I like it but it's a little expensive for a toner...

I do really like this product but it's a little expensive, so I no longer use it. I'm using a drugstore one right now that seems to have almost the same results. The product that makes the most difference on my face is topical treatments (I use 10% benzoyl peroxide)--for me personally, all alcohol-toners have about the same effect on my skin, including this one. — 3 years, 3 months ago

Great Clarifying Lotion

In comparison to the regular clinique clarifying lotion, this product is not as good simply because of the extra step to mix the white powder residue that's at the bottom of this bottle. Hence the minus one star. However, in conjunction with the three-step system, this bottom is a vital step in maintaining clear skin. Right after I wash my face and wipe with a clean towel, I take a cotton wipe and dab a bit of this on to my entire face. It leaves my skin feeling refreshingly smooth. I share this with my boyfriend, so I'm almost done with this entire bottle. It really says something about a product if I'm actually able to finish it, because most products get thrown away before it even gets close to finishing. — 5 months, 3 weeks ago

Works without feeling burned....

I have tried many products to fight against my pimples, and some products gave me feeling of burning and stinging with strong alcohol or chemical smell. BUT Clinique Acne Solutions Clarifying Lotion does not have any of that. It seems to be gentle, yet effective to prevent acne. There may be better products out there, but with this price, I will stick with Clinique Acne Solutions. — 3 years, 11 months ago

Good Toner

Its Okay but not great

I've tried better toners than this. It has less than 2% salicylic acid, which is recommened for clearing up acne. I'm not saying that it doesn't work, I was just using it twice as long as I would have if it'd been made with 2% salicylic acid. I don't think the alcohol helps either. I know there are other toners out there that are alcohol free and work just as good, if not better. I will not be making a repeat purchase of this product. — 1 year, 7 months ago

I think I reviewed the wrong toner earlier. This is definitely the product I had and I definitely did not like it. It does have an unpleasant scent, which I had forgotten about and also didn't mind that much. I can always forgive a product with a bad fragrance if it works well. This didn't. I had acne breakouts every time I used it and I DIDN'T have any new breakouts when I didn't use it. So it was very clear that this product was doing the exact opposite of what it is meant to do. Perfect alternative!

For those of you out there looking for something to control your acne & sine, this clarifying lotion is perfect! I was a faithful user of the Proactiv 3 step system, however it became hard to find and ordering online became a hassle and expensive. Clinique came up with the perfect 3 step system that superseed's Proactiv. Not only is it easy to find, Macy's, Lord & Taylor and online (shipping is generally free and quick) you also get more product from Clinique for a few dollars less then Proactiv. I am not sure how or why this stuff zaps acne but, it just does. It's a clear liquid. It is non-drying. It is in a small container so it's very portable, and it is great for daytime use. I usually dab it on under my makeup and am good to go. It sometimes takes a few time before the zit is 100% gone, but with no mess or fuss this stuff is great. — 2 years, 11 months ago
