Didn't see a color change, but did see greasy hair

    by agauthier (3 reviews)
I bought this to treat myself and hopefully give my natural red tones a lift. I used it as directed on the bottle and used about half the bottle before tossing it out. I never saw any change in my hair tone, but did find that when I used it that my hair felt limper and greasier. I have wavy hair that tends to be dry, so ...on my hair stylists recommendation, I only wash it every other day. It cuts down on split ends, dryness and frizz. My hair looks fine only doing an every other day wash - it usually looks better on day two, actually. With this stuff I HAD to wash it daily. Half the time once it dried I felt like I had to wash it again. I was really disappointed. I was also using this in conjuction with the John Frieda reds shampoo and still didn't see any noticeable shade changes. February 3, 2008, 11:47 am

    A Winner

    by witolika (5 reviews)
Yes, I love this one. I have natural red hair that due to the wonderful aging process has started to become dull. I found this product a year ago and use it once every two to three months. It definitely brings back the beautiful natural red tones to my hair. My hair looks like it did when I was 20. This doesn't look lik...e something you got out of a box or a dye job trying to make your hair look red. It is very hard to find though. I usually buy two or three at a time because it is hard to find. There was another red one also (I believe it is a deeper red), but I haven't seen it on the shelves in six months or more. If you have natural red or strawberry blonde hair and it is starting to loose it "glow", buy this and it will definitely perk it up. May 28, 2008, 8:12 pm

    Great color boost and shine!

    by Maire12 (3 reviews)
I have thick, curly hair and I colored it since I was noticing some grays. Well, I don't like the hassle of maintenance so I have decide to grow out the color (which is very close to my own anyway). I purchased this prodeuct to help blend in the roots and boost the color. This does just that - and I've started getting lo...ts of compliments on my hair lately! Not only does add a little extra uumph to my hair color, it adds shine! I do agree with another reviewer who mentioned the consistency is a little weird - too liquid and I wind up spilling more than I would like to. December 7, 2007, 6:36 am

    Love the color boost

    by kg0103 (15 reviews)
I got this to add some auburn highlights to my medium-dark brown hair. I use this daily after shampooing/conditioning my hair (sometimes I mix it with conditioner). I work a quarter-sized amount through my naturally curly, shoulder length hair and leave on for 3-5 minutes. The texture is a bit thin/slippery. I'm not craz...y about the scent, as it has a strong fake-fruit-and-alcohol scent. I don't have a problem with this shade staining my hands, and any occasional stains around my hairline are easily wiped away with a cotton ball and some rubbing alcohol. It does not feel like it rinses out completely, which I think is actually a plus for my curly, frizz-prone hair. Once completing my usual styling routine, my hair is noticeably shiny and my curls are nicely defined, as if I'd applied anti-frizz/shine serum. But I am most impressed with the color boost. I started noticing subtle auburn highlights after about a week of use. I'd say the color hit its peak after about 2 weeks, and subsequent use has maintained the color. It has given me vibrant auburn highlights (but not all over red color) that look natural, without the damage and commitment of permanent hair color. I recommend this if you're looking for a color boost, but not a drastic color change. I will continue to use it and will definitely experiment with the other shades in the line. left a thick, greasy film on virgin hair

    by SophieDear (8 reviews)
I have a large amount of fine, dry, curly, virgin hair. I followed the instructions to a tee and was left with what appeared to be a head of lifeless, dirty hair. Still, I imagine that this product's controlling nature has potential for the days on which one wishes to blow her unruly hair straight - if you might use l...ess than the advised amount and avoid applying it near the scalp. Everytime I freshly dye my hair red I use this for weeks and my color never rinses out. Red is the hardest color to get to stay, but I have a secret and it's this John Frieda color glaze. I really like this product. It saves me time and money to get my hair colored so often. May 29, 2008, 4:32 pm

this product is well worth the money

    by melis1315 (3 reviews)
I have strawberry blond hair with blond highlights - I used this product as fall was coming to tame down the blond from the summer. It worked sooo well. I was shocked - using just once a week and putting it in my hiar for 20 minutes and then showering really did make a huge lasting difference. I had a friend even ask if ...I had been to the salon! I loved this when I was a red head!

    by jodiesgirl (3 reviews)
When I had dyed my hair red I started using this product and it make my color brighter, sharper, and so much shinyer! I couldn't believe the difference! It also helped to make my color last a little longer in between dye jobs as well so that was a huge plus as well!!! December 7, 2007, 6:07 am

    Horrible!

    by crazykid1030 (13 reviews)
I decided to try this product once I died my hair back to red. I was very disapointed! I only used it once. It stripped almost all the red color out of my hair after the only use. Also, left my hair feeling oily and lifeless! I'll never use this again. February 4, 2009, 6:12 pm
