Almay Smart Shade Makeup Reviews

amazing!
This foundation takes the guessing work out of finding the right shade. It provided me with medium to buildable coverage. I like that it is matte and I can honestly say it lasted me for a good amount of time. I use it on my fingers first to get color and then apply. And when I use with my tinted moisturizer, it helps add coverage for a natural look! — 2 years, 5 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 4 of 4 people said helpful

Smart indeed
My skin falls right in between light and medium and they actually have a shade for my complexion. I've used this in the spring and summer to lighten my foundation. I really like it, but you have to make sure you blend it because you can leave streaks. — 1 year, 5 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 6 of 6 people said helpful

works great!
I love this smart shade makeup, it really does work! It is also very light and this is a must for my foundation, I don't think I'll ever use anything else! — 3 years, 6 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 4 of 4 people said helpful

Nice
It's ok but the coverage reminds me of a tinted moisturizer.. If you want more coverage I would choose something else — 1 year, 5 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

It's OK
It's easy to apply but my skin is lighter than the light option so if I don't blend very well, it's noticeable. I like that it feels light on the skin and the SPF doesn't hurt either but I don't use it that often anymore. — 1 year, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

So-So makeup (in a good way!)
While finding my right color has never been a problem, this "foundation" certainly does what it said would do: match my skin tone! For that, it gets full marks. The formula is rather runny, but goes on light, which means coverage is that of a tinted moisturizer; very useful in the summer. The smartbalance version gave a dewy-on-the-verge-of-shiny finish, so people who prefer matte faces, beware! — 2 years, 11 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

LOVE IT!
I recently purchased this foundation when my usual foundation ran out. I'd seen the commercial on t.v. and also read reviews of it online and decided it would be worth a shot. Well I was pleasantly surprised when I got home and tried it! It went on soo smooth and covered my face in a thin layer of foundation. I felt like I had no make-up on at all!! I couldn't be happier with this product. The color matched my skintone perfectly and made my skin feel velvety soft. The price wasn't so bad either ($13.99) considering how great it works. I've spent a lot more on other, more high-end foundations and this one works the same if not better and is less expensive. I have already recommended it to friends and family and think everyone should give this amazing foundation a shot! — 2 years, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 9 of 12 people said helpful

Too Sheer
The problem with Almay smartshade products is that they are too sheer. Most of us women want to wear makeup to cover our acne, red face, and to moisturize our skin and tighten it so that we look flawless. This foundation and concealer does not cover dark bags under the eyes, red spots, nor dark spots. Whats the point of wearing it then? From the average joe in South Dakota, dont buy into this fad unless you wear makeup just because. — 4 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Didn't work well for me
I have a very light complexion and when I tried the light product, my skin looked orange like I had bad tanning makeup on. My husband said it reminded him of being an Oompa Loompa. I wish it would have worked as it is hard finding a shade that matches my skin that doesn't make me look like a ghost. If want to keep trying Almay, give me a shout and maybe I can sample them for you. — 2 months, 3 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful
