Eye Shadow Quads
I bought the purples because I have green eyes and purple makes them pop. I love these shadows. They are highly saturated, go on smoothly, don't smudge or smear and last. — 1 year, 10 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 3 of 3 people said helpful

Maybelline should put more effort into these. They usually only have one really good shade, and then 3 just as filler, but you have to buy the quad to get the one, as it is usually a limited color not sold as a single. Not a good value. — 2 years, 3 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 2 people said helpful

Alright.
The packaging feels cheap, and I'm not a fan of the little applicators, although they will get the job done. It is nice that it labels where each color goes, so it's good for newbies. The pigmentation is just alright--you'll definitely want to use eye primer to help boost the color. The shadows were not chalky, and had just the right amount of shimmer. I'll probably use the one I have, but I don't feel like it's worth repurchasing. — 2 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

One of my Go To Shadows
I love these shadows and have them in several shades. The colors in each "kit" compliment each other extremely well. They are highly pigmented and stay on the skin, while still being easy to blend. They also hold up to wear and tear very well - read: no breakage in my purse. — 1 year, 9 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 5 of 5 people said helpful

Charlcoal Smokes
This was my first "smokey" shadow quad I purchased. The colors are all shimmery except for the black which has actual micro-glitters. I love how the packaging looks and that it has directions for how to create a perfect smokey eye. You get a nice amount of product for the price and you can make so many different looks with these colors. The shadows are pigmented and last a long time especially when combined with a primer. Even if I use a different silver or gray I ALWAYS use the black that comes in this quad. It is simply perfect for lining your eyes [try it wet, it is AWESOME!]. The applicators suck but who uses those any way? — 2 years, 5 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 4 of 6 people said helpful

like makeup for dummies!
i love how they have a photo guide for multiple ways of applying the eye shadow quads! very helpful for someone who never really learned how to "contour" and what not (like me). i only wish the color combos worked better - i picked this up in "time for wine" and the matte nude shade recommended for the lid makes no difference when i applied - invisible! the suggested color combos looks better in the palette than on my eyes =( but i can always customize to my own liking... — 5 years, 5 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 4 of 4 people said helpful

Smoky Eye Heaven...
I've been using this shadow FOR YEARS. I'm currently using "Stylish Smokes" and use three of the colors in the package. There's always one color out of the four that is really sparkly and shimmery, which I don't use, so it goes to waste. But other than that, I love these shadows. The color payoff is HUGE ~ deep, dark and beautiful color, smooth application and excellent blendability. I prefer to use the sponge-tip applicators that come with it....they seem to deliver more color per application. I blend with a brush afterwards. I've tried using a brush to apply, but the color goes on too weak. As a fan of a darker smoky eye that is easy and simple, Maybelline New York shadows win every time. — 2 years, 3 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 9 of 11 people said helpful

Pair with a primer
These shadows are actually pretty awesome. Used dry, they do a decent job with coverage & lasting. I definitely prefer applying them damp for better color payoff & longevity. You can use it dry with great results if you use a primer. It will last you all day without creasing if used with a good primer. Maybelline also offers a pretty good range of colors to create tons of different looks; it own the brownish/ bronze-y quad shown & another purple smokey-eye quad and both work really well. The powder is not chalky or cheap feeling and you don't need to layer a ton on to achieve good results. — 2 years agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful
