Great hair color!

I have natural red hair that I love, but every once in awhile I crave a bit of a change. I always do the allergy test and the strand test with at home hair dye. You can't disregard the instructions then blame the product with the whole thing goes awry! I have used this kit a couple times to get a slightly different shade of red and add some subtle highlights. I was always afraid of over doing it w...read moreith the highlights so I never went too crazy with that, but that's part of what I liked about the set--I had the option to do as much or as little as I liked. I never strayed too far from my natural hair color so this always came out very nicely on me. If you're going more than a couple shades from your natural color or if your hair has recently been dyed, consult a professional!

um...

Not enough words for awful, not only did I not get any where close to the color I wanted, i didn't even get color I got brass. It's terrible, and I wouldn't trust this on my dog. I thought hair dye was suppose to dye hair?? Not destroy it and make you want to scream. Awful color, awful application, awful product.

Caramel Glaze

This is supposed to be medium brown but it's a dark brown with subtle reddish or bronze tint, depending on the lighting. Great base color if you like dark hair but not harsh black. Usually dark brown hair dye has too much red tones and it's not dark enough. The base color is just perfect. As for the highlights it did not turn out blondish as shown on the box. More like auburn but I didn't use...read more it on virgin hair; my hair had been dyed with permanent and semi-permanent for several months so that may have affected the turn out. I would definitely buy this again just for the base color. There was more than enough dye for my long straight hair, 1/3rd down my back. Definitely test out the color first on a small section to see the results before coloring your whole head of hair, especially the highlights, to avoid unfavorable outcomes.

Amazingly easy to use

I used this product for the first time two weeks ago (in Cherry Cordial) and I was happier with the results than I've ever been with a hair dye, and I'm including trips to the salon. At first I was nervous because the base coat was darker than what I wanted, but after I added the highlights the color looked just as it did on the box, and it's stayed bright--not easy for red hair dye. I'm terrible ...read morewith hair, and was sure I was messing up the highlights as I went along, making them too thick and skunky and screwing up the back, but, like I said, I was very pleased with the results. I will definitely be purchasing this product again. Tip: Big Lots often sells this product for $6.50, and they have a pretty decent selection.

Medium irridescent blonde

This saves me soooo much money at the salon...it looks professional and multidimensional. Covers grey beautifully and the highlights are easy with their directions. Just wish I could buy EXACTLY the same base color for in between touch ups . Don't need to highlight every single time I do roots...

Salon Results at home

I've used this product off and on for years and have never been disappointed! My only frustration is that it appears harder to find than it used to be. Follow the instructions & you shouldn't be disappointed!

Ehhhh!

I used this product years ago because I wanted highlights in my hair but didn't want to pay big bucks at a salon for them. I used a different color than shown on this box, it was a medioum brown I think...but the entire system isn't easy to work with ...at least not for me...wouldnt buy this again

Never Home colored and my stylist is awesme, BUT not this awesome!

Like it, but . . .

I find the blonde shades run a little darker than the picture. I also have found using my fingers applied the highlights better than any of the tools provided. All-in-all, the color and highlights are as good as I was getting in a salon at about 1/10 the price. However, I have had some breakage which I attribute to maybe the harshness of the bleach in the high lighting formula. I recommend this product, but condition regularly.

Love, love, love

I'm in love with this color. I've used it for years, and lately I've alternated every other application with John Freida foam color just because of the huge time commitment this color takes. The John Freida color blends well (I use a level 9) and takes so much less time, so I use it every other application. It's dumb to complain about hair color smelling bad. I will say though, you have to master how to do your own highlights, and if you don't pay attention you'll could really butcher them. To make them even, I use the mascara wand, not the weird fingertip applicator they've been putting in lately. Color lasts forever, and the highlights even show through the next time when I use the John Freida color. I take off one star b/c they could really have a wider selection of colors.
