Dove Invisible Solids Reviews

Ditch the Dove Deodorant
I wrote in another review that there were a few things which were grilled into me in modeling school: 1) In general, liquid antiperspirants/deodorants are much more effective than solids; 2) Switch deodorants occasionally, as your body becomes accustomed to one formula and thus it grows less effective; and 3) Never apply an antiperspirant or deodorant after shaving. I don't sweat greatly, so I broke two of these "rules." Dove, in general, makes reliable, sweet-smelling products. I thought a solid might be a nice switch to my routine. This did NOTHING for me. I liked the scent upon application, but there were the dreaded white marks on my clothing after use. It is not "invisible," as Dove claims. When I smelled a not-so-pleasant scent around lunchtime, I realized that it was--gasp!--me! I washed furiously in the ladies' room. I was sweating as well and the weather wasn't particularly warm. I went back to my tried-and-true Certain Dri clear liquid. I alternate that with Mitchum's unscented liquid, and I have no perspiration, no odor, and no marks on clothing. What was I thinking, anyhow? — 2 months, 2 weeks agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Low expectations, but better than the usual stuff.
I'm not really a sweaty person by nature, so what kind of deodorant I use isn't that important to me-- I usually just buy the cheapest thing available. However, this was on sale so I tried it. I can't say that I'm impressed, but I honestly don't know what it would take for a deodorant to impress me. The smell is rather nondescript, but not unpleasant, it seems to do a good job of keeping me dry, and I haven't noticed it rubbing off on my clothes. It does seem to have a soothing effect on the skin as well. All in all, I would say that it's fine. If it were less expensive, I would probably be more inclined to buy it over another brand. It would've been nice to have more choices of the scent, though. — 2 years, 3 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 0 of 0 people said helpful

Review subject
I have tried this in several dif scents, and most of them smell nasty after a few hours on my skin. The "fresh" fragrance most of all, was not a good fit for me. The only Dove deoderant I can use is "powder",which is a great fragrance. I wear alot of black clothes though, and you can't wear Dove deoderant if you are going to wear black. On a hot day last summer, I applied extra to "make sure", and that was a huge mistake. It was messy, and gross. It is nice to use after you shave though, because of the smooth application. After I had used it a couple weeks though, I realized that I would need to keep a second stick at work so that I could re-apply during the day. I'm not sure if It's supposed to be an antipersperant also, but it didn't do a very good job of preventing wetness. — 1 year, 10 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

Didnt work for me.
Although this smells grea and seems powerful, it really is not. It does not cover up your sweat smell or make you not sweat. It also gets all over your clothes:) — 2 years, 2 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful

It's ok.
Dove smells ok, and controls transpiration a little better than other, but it is not suitable for high physical activity, plus it tends to stain my black clothes. Other than that it is a good product, worth the price. — 1 year, 4 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 1 of 1 people said helpful

Not Too Impressed
It left some residue and I personally did not like the strong scent. Also, it does not work for all day long especially in humid climate or when workout. Dove's another deodrant -Ultimate Clear outperforms in every aspect. — 4 years, 11 months agoThis review is: Helpful | Not helpful | Inappropriate | 2 of 2 people said helpful
