The straightener part does straighten, but if you use straighten a lot, your hand will get tired and hurt a bit due to the uncomfortable position. 	Conair Big Curls Volume Hairsetter I recently bought this item and was not impressed at all. The instructions say it takes 10-15 minutes to heat up-well, I waited for 20 minutes and they were still not ready. I returned it the following day and will be looking for something else. 	Conair Ion Shine Instant Heat Hairsetter The curlers are good they curl ok but the clips are terrible. They only fit the large curlers correctly. I have very thick hair and even with sectioning large amounts of hair they don't hold on the small curlers. They should have different size clips for the different size rollers. I haven't been able to shave my underarms with normal razor because it gets little bumps and my underarm is shaped funny so it is easy to cut.
