No physical blockers!

DDF's new PROTECT & CORRECT UV Moisturizer SPF 15 is a nice day time cream. It's fairly hydrating considering it's a sunscreen & on the benefit side it helps correct the look of discoloration & hyper pigmentation. I wasn't sure at first if it was just by luck that my skin stopped being so blotchy when I started using the product but after a couple days it was for sure the product was the answer. My skin tone has been by far more radiant. My only concern with this product is that it contains sunblocks that degrade & breakdown rather than physical blockers that protect all day like Mikaela's favourite one. That's a big issue for me - making sure my SPF lasts. I don't have time when flying to reapply all day long... something to think about!

Stressing out about stress

I hate stress and anxiety, yet I am one of those people who constantly stress out about everything and absolutely nothing all at once. (especially this time of year!) This is a real problem, it can reek havoc on your health and most definitely on your appearance - the worst part! I try to be as healthy as possible, I eat well, take vitamins and exercise every single day yet I can't get away from my self-created stress. I even get products for it like the Dermalogica Stress Relief oil pictured here. It's nice, but I don't know how much it helps... (Btw, the product is a blend of essential oils you can use for massage, a bath, or body moisturizer - great for those purposes!)

Great, except for the smell

This Gold Bond lotion is a godsend for really dry, itchy skin in the Winter - except for one thing... the menthol. It's a plus but also a minus. I was suffering badly one Christmas a few years ago, my skin was so red & raw. I used this after my shower and caught the chills, my skin was absolutely freezing! The Dimethicone it contains is nice & moisturizing, but the smell leaves something to be desired... very medicated. However, if you're itching uncontrollably it's a smell you'd gladly put up with.

Holy Grail for gorgeous hair!

Red alert - Giselle hair! This is my HG hair product. Loreal Professional Textureline Playball Beach Creme gives gorgeous, tousled, wind swept hair. You can apparently use it different ways, so far I've used it on dry hair, twisting it through the ends which gives it a ropey look. But you can also use it on towel dried hair and let it air dry or use a diffuser (I'm excited to experiment with it for summer, when I don't want to even lay eyes on a blow dryer!). I did a quick search on the product and found a review somewhere of someone saying it gives great 'dirty hair', which it does. I wash mine every day and can't imagine having actual dirty hair, but this gives it that slept in look. It really gets you that Serena GG style.

My sister Shivaughn LOVES this

I was left in a state of bliss after using Pevonia rejuvenating dry skin cream. The smell of honey followed me everywhere, my lips needed no balm & my skin was left being silky smooth. This is a heavy cream so I don't recommend applying then jumping straight into bed, let it set in for a while & enjoy the aroma. The pretty glass jar is not only small & packable but it comes with an application stick so your not contaminating your jar with each use. Love, love love it! Fantastic for replenishing lost moisture after way too many flights.

Go to war with free radicals

After beauty commandment #1 (wear sunblock diligently) and commandment #2 (use prescritpion retinoids religiously) comes a fairly new one - add another layer of protection with Anti-oxidants. Priori Day Complex is a great choice for filling this requirement. It features the powerhouse anti-oxidant Coffeeberry, a fairly new discovery - an it naturally smells ever so lightly like a vanilla latte. Adding an anti-oxidant product to your everyday routine will help fend off free radicals, help your sun protection be more effective, and serve as a powerful ally in the war against aging. As usual, we try to tell you how products would be beneficial for travel, so here goes: An anti-oxidant would be especially beneficial while flying because of all the environmental aggressors you encounter. Recycled cabin air deposits other people's germs on to you, you're flying high above the clouds and encountering stronger sun-rays, and the climate you may be traveling to may shock your skin. Adding anti-oxidant protection ensures you arrive back home with skin as beautiful as when you left.

Great introduction to retinol/retinoids

This serum utilizes retinol to encourage cell turnover, Alpha Lipoic Acid (an anti-aging ingredient highly touted by Dr. Perricone) and Soybean oil which is very moisturizing and helps keep the skin from drying out - which can sometimes happen when you first begin a retinol/retinoid regimne. A great pre cursor to prescription retinoids.

I LOVE these! and they're cheap!

If you need to be mobile and relaxing with your eyes closed isn't possible, the Japanese skin care company DHC makes fantastic eye pads called 'Revitalizing Moisture Strips for Eyes'. These little crescents stick to the eye area hydrating and de-puffing allowing you to get on with your other beautification rituals. Oh, and they are a steal at $6.50 for 6 pairs (So Cheap!). I use them all the time.

Awesome!!!

DHC Olive Virgin Oil Is a USDA Organic olive oil moisturizer for your face. This is one of me & my sister's favourite hydrators. It seriously softens, and is a wonderful oil for travel, it feels great after flying & having every last bit of natural oil sucked out of your skin. This comes in a one ounce (non-leaky) pump bottle - all you need is a few drops!

Love this stuff!

I mix this with my Dermalogica Microfoliant to make an exfoliating paste - leaves my skin so soft and smooth, and you can use it in the shower!
