Benefit Bathina Body So Fine is a bit odd, like a lip balm for your body -- it leaves a smooth finish but sits on top of skin instead of sinking in. Fans of florals will love the white flower smell. Fans of fuzz-free skin will not love the black puff that accompanies the balm, as it leaves fuzzies in the product and on your skin. (Better to use your hands.) Since it takes about 10 minutes to apply to your body, it's also not for the time-crunched.

Clinique's Happy to Be Body Cream, a so-so lotion, is great for layering beneath the citrus-y, floral Happy to Be fragrance if you want to help the scent last all day. While it's not the "luxurious cream" it claims to be, the lotion sinks in quickly to hydrate, offering decent moisturization for normal skin types. Skin doesn't appear "dewy" or "shimmering," but carries the pleasant Happy to Be scent -- reminiscent of an orange grove -- for a couple of hours.

Redken Elastic Works 09 gives wavy hair well-defined curls that manage to stay bouncy and soft, not crispy or crunchy. I applied it to damp hair and diffused while scrunching. Surprisingly, my waves came out as loose curls that were low on frizz, as opposed to kinky curls that were stiff or frizzy. Straight hair types can use this to coax waves out of hair, while any hair type can expect added texture and movement.

Profound Beauty Stylist Volume Power probably won't become a part of your daily styling routine. But when your hair falls flat and you want to boost it without restyling, you'll be grateful it's in your arsenal. Flip your head over, apply a fine mist and be blown away by hair that seems to have doubled in size. Unfortunately, crunchy texture can be a side effect. Smoothing hair with a brush will help soften the look, but you'll likely sacrifice some height.

NYC's Sun 2 Sun Bronzing Powder pairs two shades in one compact for a bronze glow with a hint of color. But a word of warning: Colors may not look very natural on your skin tone. (Case in point: In the bronze/gold compact I tried, the gold color alone gave my light olive skin an unnatural yellow tinge. Blended with bronze, the effect was a little better ... over my fake tan.) While the pressed powder likely absorbs oil, it doesn't dramatically minimize shine. But it does goes on smoothly, add shimmer and blend well into skin to last all day.

Neutrogena's Extra Gentle Eye Makeup Remover Pads are in fact "extra gentle," which makes sensitive eyes very happy. The non-drying, non-greasy formula leaves lids feeling clean, but removing waterproof mascara can be a little tricky. (I had to use a pad at night and another in the morning.) For non-waterproof mascara, the pads work perfectly. Tip: They are fairly large, so you may be able to get away with cutting them in half, which means you get twice as many pads in one jar.

Lather Sweet Almond Exfoliating Creme smells like a baked goodie (thanks to the almond oil) and feels almost dough-like on skin. Bamboo and jojoba beads are sparsely spaced, so the exfoliation is gentle -- perfect for sensitive skin. The thick cream, which contains kaolin clay and rosehip oil, can leave a little residue so try using a gentle cleanser after rinsing. The major downside is the price; for a cheaper yet effective product, try St. Ives Apricot Scrub for sensitive skin.

Dry hair is put on notice with John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Lustrous Touch Smoothing Conditioner. With ingredients like jojoba oil and silk amino acids, the creamy formula smoothes and softens hair without weighing it down. Paired with the moisturizing Smoothing Shampoo, the conditioner becomes a real bargain as you won't need to use much. Don't expect amazing shine or a realistic chocolate scent, but since the formula smoothes the hair cuticle, do expect strands do look healthy.

John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Lustrous Touch Smoothing Shampoo is a little difficult to rinse out, doesn't add much shine and smells too artificially chocolate, but the creamy formula leaves hair smooth and soft. I was a bit concerned that the heavy product would weigh my fine hair down, but even used with the equally creamy Smoothing Conditioner, my hair had just as much bounce as it always does. Because it's so rich, this shampoo may be overkill for those who don't have dry hair, but anyone looking for a sleek, not flat, look should give this a try.

You won't be blown away by the less-than-dramatic volume this gives -- more like pleasantly surprised. Giovanni Root 66 Directional Root Lifting Spray feels a little sticky during blow-drying but finishes with a soft look and noticeable bounce that lasts most of the day. The spray nozzle easily sends a fine mist of product directly to roots, but the product can be a little drying so it's a good idea to pair it with a moisturizing shine serum or light conditioner to protect hair during styling.
