Skin type:
Oily
Hair color:
Black
Hair type:
Wavy,
Fine,
Thick
Ingredients I hate or am allergic to:
Alcohol, Ammonia, Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde-based Resins, Formaldehyde-releasing Preservatives, Mercury
My brand obsessions:
ralph lauren, seven for all mankind, benefit cosmetics, clinique, lush, glysomed, johnson's baby, burt's bees, c.o. bigelow's, l'occitane
I'd bawl my eyes out if this product was discontinued:
chanel coco mademoiselle eau de parfum, ivory moisturizing body wash - waterlily, benefit high beam, clinique dramatically different moisturizing gel, glysomed hand cream, l'oreal lineur intense carbon black, chanel rouge allure - passion, st. ive's apricot scrub
Save your money! Here are 5 products I bought and regretted:
1. clinique take the day off makeup removing milk - it stings! also, it absorbed too much and there wasn't much left to wipe/rinse off. lush ultrabland was much more gentle and left my skin soft.
2. chanel le vernis nail laquer in ballerina - new york color nail glossies in touch of pink is only 3 dollars, has similar color, and has better application/lasts longer/is glossier.
3. cartier l'eau de cartier - turned sour on my skin and has no lasting power! a better citrus scent is theirry mugler mugler cologne or dolce and gabbana light blue. also, the big clunky bottle was hard to hold.
4. dove cream oil body wash - the scent wasn't that great, and while it seemed to moisturize it didn't seem to clean my skin at all. i felt sticky and itchy afterwards. i prefer the many fun philosophy body washes and the classic ivory waterlily body wash.
5. body shop body butters - the scent is too fruity, the butters are too sticky (leaves behind a grease) and traps dirt on your skin... i found myself compulsively handwashing after using these butters. i prefer the whipped body souffles by origins.
From shower to "out the door," how long I take to get ready on an average day:
60-90 minutes, depending on what im doing to my face/clothes that day.
Beauty trend I'd really, really like to learn or try:
bangs or a different hair texture. i hate using heated tools on my hair, so bangs look horrible on my naturally wavy hair (the FOB-y asian girl with not-so-sleek-bangs ring a bell?) when they stick up or curl strangely.
What makeup thingy is always in my purse:
moisturizing lip gloss and hand cream.
Ah, memories... My biggest junior high beauty mistake:
pale skin, black lipstick. i went through that weird goth thing.
Most cringe-worthy beauty treatment I've ever endured:
bikini wax with a male aesthetician... he was gay and flamboyantly so but it's still awkward!
The most $$ I've ever shelled out for a beauty product:
chanel vitalumiere smoothing creme concealer - $50 or so. sorta worth it because if you aren't extremely well moisturized it doesn't blend very cleanly (very waxy texture)... but the color is a very good match to my skintone.
