My brand obsessions:
Sun Laboratories for right now. I'm currently on my quest to find the perfect sunless tanner, and I love Sun Labs. As far as makeup goes, I'm all over the place when it comes to brands -- just too many to have a certain fave.
I'd bawl my eyes out if this product was discontinued:
Sun Laboratories sunless tanner. I know there are more items; just can't think of 'em right now.
Save your money! Here are 5 products I bought and regretted:
* Freeze 24-7
* Herbal Essences hair mousse - so sticky and stiff.
* Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs after the spray nozzles stopped working on all the ones I bought in the last year.
* More to come.
From shower to "out the door," how long I take to get ready on an average day:
45 minutes - 1.5 hours, depending on if my hair is cooperative. I have insanely fine hair that's impossible to deal with sometimes. On ponytail days, though, I can usually get out the door in less than 30 minutse.
Beauty trend I'd really, really like to learn or try:
Highlighting my own hair without it looking like *I* did it myself after drinking lots of vodka. I'd also like to be able to give myself a Brazilian wax. I've never even tried waxing myself.
What makeup thingy is always in my purse:
A pressed-powder compact.
Ah, memories... My biggest junior high beauty mistake:
It was the early to mid 1980's, so there are so many. Let's see - way too much Aqua Net hairspray to the point it was near-impossible to wash the stuff out of my hair at times. Also, wearing too much makeup (esp. purple eyeshadow and eyeliner) are two I can think of right off. I know there must be many, many more. There are probably things I did that nobody had the heart to tell me about. :)
Most cringe-worthy beauty treatment I've ever endured:
Removal of melasma and sun spots from my face in 2003; cringe-worthy because it burned like h*ll. It was worth it, but oh how it burned in certain areas on my face, plus there was scabbing for a few days and I looked awful during that time. The (very modest, conservative sized) breast implants last year were a great idea, but I really ached for a few days afterward! Totally worth it though.
The most $$ I've ever shelled out for a beauty product:
That useless Freeze 24-7 facial cream for $125. Oh, and I guess we should include the silicone breast implants - I actually have lumps resembling boobs now, so those were totally worth it for me. The Freeze 24-7 as far as makeup/skin products go - terrible, awful, pricy decision on that one.
About Me:
I'm 39, married for 12 years, no kids, several kitties and two dogs, and I hit the gym a lot. Vegetarian. I'm on a seemingly never-ending quest to retain my youth as I find myself approaching 40. My husband says I'm vain and somewhat insecure, and he's probably right.
