Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem Welcome a Son

Javier Bardem is one lucky guy -- he received an Oscar nomination and had his first child all within the span of a couple of days!

Although there are very few details about the birth as yet, according to Spanish newspaper El Pais, Bardem's wife, Penelope Cruz, gave birth to a baby boy over the weekend at Los Angeles' Cedar Sinai Medical Center. Then, on Tuesday, came the news that he'd received his third Academy Award nomination for his role in "Biutiful."

The successful actors, both of whom are Spanish, met in 2007 on the set of Woody Allen's "Vicky Cristina Barcelona" and married last July at a friend's estate in the Bahamas. It was when the natural beauty appeared on set of "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" sporting a baby bump that they released a statement saying that she was expecting. This is the first child for both parents.
