If you ever find youself wondering how to make your hair more vibrant, Allure recently interviewed hair stylist Frédéric Fekkai to find out to get shiny hair.
The right way to dry your hair for optimum shine
Fekkai explains that you should look for shine-enhancing shampoos and conditioners, opting to stay away from clarifying shampoos. If you need a clarifying shampoo, you might want to try alternating it, as it tends to leave hair dull.
The hairstylist also points out that if you have colored hair, it may be a good idea to look into hair masks and use it once a week to preserve moisture.
After you towel dry your hair, apply either a glossing cream or a shine serum. If you have fine hair, it's better to go with the cream as it has a lighter texture. A serum is best for those with unruly hair, and only a quarter-size dollop is needed at most.
Finally, dry your hair with a hairdryer using a round brush, pictured here. It's important to start at the roots and aim the dryer downward to prevent it from damaging your hair.
