Tell me if this chain of events rings any bells: You splurge on a professional blowout, your hair looks almost like Gisele's, you enjoy it for a few hours, you hit the hay, you wake and realize that you pretty much flushed $40 down the drain.

Sound about right?

I used to think that short of pounding Red Bull in an effort to prevent my head from touching a pillow, there was no way to keep from ruining a great blowout. Then I stalked Blo W Hollywood's Chief Style Boss Ivan Arellano and was happy to learn that there are more sane methods to keeping a professional blowout looking great for days.

According to Arellano, a good blowout, flat ironing, or curling should last two to three days. To make sure you get your money's worth -- and a good night's sleep -- the next time you indulge, simply follow his foolproof tips ...

I always have to put my hair in a ponytail because of the lovely night sweats I get but, now I am going to try the upside down, scarf tip! Thanks Again!!

my blowouts usually last me a week if i try! i just use dry shampoo (after day 3) and tie my hair in a loose bun with a scrunchy at night. and during the day, i will reapply leave in conditioner or argan oil to fight fly aways. i rarely use more heat on my hair for touch ups.
