We Tried the GlamGlow #GlitterMask and It Made Us Feel Like Human Sparklers

It's as effective as it is sparkly

Look, I love GlamGlow as much as the next beauty editor, but I'm not going to lie: I was actively managing my expectations for the new GlamGlow #GlitterMask GravityMud Firming Treatment. First off, I feared that the chunky glitter (and star sequins) were going to be abrasive. Then, there's also the fact that peel off masks can sometimes strip your skin, leaving it feeling dry (while also painfully taking out some peach fuzz).

Well, I'm here to tell you that all my fears were for naught: Turns out, the GlamGlow #GlitterMask is every bit as fabulous as its glittery appearance would have you believe. Read on to see what my experience with the buzzy new mask was like.

The Application
I'd meant to test drive the mask in the comfort of my own home, but being the scatterbrain I am, I left it at work -- so I found myself applying it in the office bathroom, praying no one came in (someone did, but she didn't seem to mind too much). The mask gave a slight cooling, tingling sensation as I did my best to apply in an even layer.

The Drying
I headed back to my desk to get some work done while it dried -- and it actually dried pretty quickly. By the time I started taking some photos a few minutes later, I found it had started to harden, thus slightly limiting my range for making goofy faces (your loss).

The Peeling
I waited until it was completely dry to peel it off. (An earlier swatch test on my arm revealed that if you don't let it dry all the way, it's more difficult to remove.) Surprisingly, the whole mask actually peeled off in one piece, which was incredibly satisfying. Another bonus? It didn't hurt at all to take it off, and all my peach fuzz (and the eyebrow hairs that I'd accidentally covered) stayed on my face.

The Results
If being packed with glitter and being fun to remove was all it had to offer, I would have been a happy camper. But here's the thing: The #GlitterMask made my skin look pretty darn fantastic. My co-workers even asked if I was wearing any other products and remarked on how glowy my skin looked (one even called it a unicorn glow). This photo was taken without foundation, highlighter or concealer (though it was taken with eyeliner, eye shadow, brow powder and a tinted lip balm) and I have to say, my skin looks (and feels) great.
