  • Mineral makeup fans are starting to freak me out.

  • They're, like, hyper-rabid about how it's so life-changing... how it stopped them from breaking out... how it, I don't know, found a cure for cancer or something. They're always like, "You HAVE TO try it!"

  • Yeahhh. About that. I tried it. And hated it. It seemed to highlight every pore, every acne scar, every wrinkle.

  • (If you haven't tried the mineral makeup thing, don't let me sway you -- this quiz will tell you if you're going to love it or hate it... check it out before you spend your money.)

  • Just me? Am I being a nutso anti-mineral makeup-ist?

    • I initially fell for all of those amazing claims myself. I\'ve also found that most brands oxidize on my skin and turn into a muddy color an hour later leaving me with a big surprise when I\'ve already left the house. I\'ve only found one brand that I like so far in a mineral foundation and it comes from The Body Shop. One of the reasons I think it\'s different is that is has more incandescence to it than the others I\'ve tried, and perhaps it\'s light-deflecting that oxidation. Mineral makeup takes getting used to and can be very messy, but after awhile, it\'s okay. They aren\'t for everyone, but obviously they\'re for many because look at the surge on the market!

    • Some were a hit (l\'oreal\'s bare naturale, LOVED IT) some were a miss (Arbonne\'s version....all the colors are pink based, even for darker skin tones). The one thing that irritates me about all of them is that they oxidise on my skin (no matter what, every primer, every powder, everything, nothing keeps it true) and make me look orange halfway through the day. What kind of baffles me, is that I look better in my summer color now that I\'m pallid, then I did then (as long as I blend it down to avoid the line of demarcation). Maybe mineral makeup would make a good bronzer for the pale girl, I can see it working. I\'m super excited to try out the newest fad though, HD makeup. Woowooo! soon...
