  • Backstage with Mally Roncal at Tracy Reese

  • I caught up with Mally Roncal, makeup artist and founder of Mally Beauty, backstage at the Tracy Reese show (one of my fave designers). Mally created a gorgeous spring makeup look for the show. See it above on model Shelby Coleman (pictured with Mally). It's a girly but sexy look we can all actually wear -- woohoo!

  • Here's how to get it:

  • Step 1: Blend peachy-pink cream blush on the apples of your cheeks and set the color by dusting a powder blush in the same shade on top.

  • Step 2: Sweep the same powder blush color you used on your cheeks across your eyelids. Then line the inner rims of your eyes with black pencil for a touch of drama. Then line your lash lines with a soft brown pencil to further define eyes without making them too intense. Finish the eyes with black mascara.

  • Step 3: Layer two glosses to get the apricot effect you see above. Mally will actually be coming out with one gloss that will take the place of using two, so keep your eyes peeled for that in the spring. (That's one of the great things about hanging out backstage. We get sneak previews on new products even before they are developed!) Apply a peach color sheer gloss on the bottom and layer that with a sheer pink shade.

  • Sally Hansen debuted a new nail color at this show as well (called Tassel) that will also be available in the spring. It was a true gold hue that is gorgeous and sheer enough for all skin tones to use. Just apply one coat (that's what they did for the show) to keep it pretty and not too bling-y.
