  • One morning, faced with stubborn bangs, a cowlick, no good hats or scarves and about 20 minutes to solve the problem, I thought, "How great would it be if I could just get new hair for a day?" Then I remembered I had a chocolate brown version of these:

  • Did anyone at the office notice my incredibly long, new 'do was fake? Only Senior Editor Kristen Oldham Giordani, who asked if I had on extensions. Everyone else thought I had merely spent hours curling my hair. Note: Because my hair texture is naturally straight and the hairpiece attaches just below the crown of the head, I did have to curl a few pieces up top to match. Here's a side view for comparison:

  • To increase your chances of this hairpiece looking natural, make sure you pick the right color and texture. These pieces aren't cheap (about $95-$100 for synthetic hair and much more for human hair) so I highly recommend finding a salon here and trying them on before you spend the money. Or you can try winning one through the monthly HairUWear Giveaway. (I'm signing up right now.)
