Dermalogica's new six-piece brightening regimen, ChromaWhite TRx, $188, has finally hit Dermalogica stores in the U.S.!

Touted as a revolutionary at-home treatment that shows visible results within eight weeks of dedicated use, the kit aims to control, safely minimize and prevent the appearance of hyperpigmentation, particularly that which is caused by sun damage.

Having had the opportunity to try the kit before it hit U.S. stores, I must say I was impressed with the results. My skin looks much brighter (especially in photographs!) and while my freckles are still visible, they've softened considerably to blend in with a much more even-toned complexion. Don't believe me? There's a bit more shadow in the before photo but both were taken with the same lighting; you can definitely see a difference in the evenness and brightness of my skin. (Stay tuned for more skin makeovers like this come winter!)

As for the ChromaWhite TRx products, here's my take: This kit is best for seriously dedicated users. The routine is pretty involved and probably isn't for those who are attached to short routines or often forget to put on all their products. Also, the price is near equivalent to that of getting spa facials every week, so while you will be treating your skin daily in contrast, this still may not seem like a bargain. In my experience, half the products were quite pleasant to use, but the Pure Light SPF30 was a little drying on my dry skin, the Powerfoliant smelled a bit unpleasant (think sulfur) and the Tri-Active Cleanse (which I liked) felt a tad unfamiliar. Also, I did notice my hyperpigmentation looking a tad worse before it got better, which I was told might happen. But overall, I did see visible results and you likely will too ... if you stick with it and don't lose patience.
