11 Stunning Red Carpet Beauty Looks We're Stealing this New Year's EveBecause the best way to ring in the New Year is with a killer smoky eye (or bold lip) |
Olivia Wilde's Retro Look Sorry not sorry: I'm a little over sparkly makeup for New Year's Eve. The flecks of glitter that end up on my cheeks after I apply shimmery eye makeup make me look like I just revisited my tube of body glitter from the Delia's catalog.
I don't think there's anything more glamorous than 1960s beauty. (Nico FTW!) And I absolutely loved Olivia Wilde's '60s-inspired makeup at the Academy Awards. It's a stylized look that sets her apart from the smoky-eye-nude-lip pack, but it's not so retro that it appears costume-y. Plus, if you're into midnight kisses, this peachy lip color is a little more approachable (and touch-up-able) than a bright red statement lip. Just sayin'. --Katie McCarthy
