In-Shower Root Boost I've tried every kind of volumizing hair product that exists. Mousses, sprays, serums, shampoos … the list goes on. The irony, however, is that the more you layer on products, the more they weigh down and flatten your hair. Then, I got my hands on John Frieda Luxurious Volume 7-Day Volume In-Shower Treatment, 9.99, (currently only available at Target), which is something completely different. As the name suggests, it's a volumizing treatment you use in the shower. And it works.
After rinsing out my shampoo and conditioner, I apply the treatment to my roots and let it sit for a few minutes. Then, I rinse again. When I blow-dry my hair -- even without using any styling products -- I have so much more volume around my face (where I need it the most). And even if I travel and don't bring the treatment with me, the volume comes along because it lasts through three to five washes. It has strengthening keratin, thickening protein and a special gel that bonds to the hair fibers creating thickness and texture. Move over, mousse.
