The best foundation for you is an oil-free liquid formula

Why: "Don't use cream foundations or concealers -- stick to oil-free formulas and liquid concealers like MAC Select Cover Up, $16.50," says Stiles. "Anything too oily will not only exacerbate your shininess, but also your makeup will tend to slide off your face."

Products to try: For light/medium coverage, try Laura Mercier Oil-Free Foundation, $42. For full coverage, try Chantecaille Future Skin Foundation, $68 or Estee Lauder Double Wear Light, $34, a long-lasting, natural-looking formula which is "perfect for oily skin since it'll cling onto the skin even when you get oily/sweaty and won't separate or turn cakey," says Barose.

Tip: "Anti-shine products only work for a short time. You're better off using blotting papers to control your oil or blotting powder and stay far, far away from cream foundations -- they are a disaster for oily skin." Barose agrees saying "blot throughout the day" and do "minor touch ups."
