One year before your wedding: Fix teeth imperfections

Consult with a cosmetic dentist with as much lead time as possible if you have any chips or crooked teeth that you want fixed, says Golub-Evans. "Straighter teeth can be achieved several ways, the time frame ranging from two weeks up to two years. A bride's treatment plan depends on a variety of factors -- how straight the teeth currently are, if there are any spaces," he says. So the minute that rock lands on your finger, your dentist should be the first call you make (well, after you tell the parents, of course).

Be careful about SPF in makeup though--some kinds can give your face a whitish cast in photographs.
