When I think about Argan oil, supermodel and skin care guru Josie Maran immediately comes to mind. Her entire line is based around this miracle ingredient -- and her perfect complexion is proof of how well the stuff works. The oil contains a high concentration of vitamin E and fatty acids, and it's more stable in sunlight than other antioxidants -- so it's perfect to wear during the day. It's also very rare and expensive -- so it's a good thing that you only need a tiny amount for it to be effective. "If you see 1 ounce of Argan for $15 that's not right," says Wong. She adds that these cheaper versions may have added ingredients that make them less effective.

I have tried most of these (esp. tea tree and grapeseed on my acne-prone skin) and they do work. I'm surprised maracuja oil was left out. I've used this for about two years. It's high in vit C, so many of my blotches and old acne marks have disappeared.

I use Grapeseed oil as a moisturizer after doing a lot of research and I love it. I am usually very oily but lately I've been more combo. The trick Is to use a VERY small amount otherwise it can leave a shine on ur face. In the day I mix it with my Cetaphil moisturizer and it works great!

I make my own face oil with a 1:1 mixture of castor oil ( cleansing oil),grapeseed oil ( light, great for oily/aneic skin) and joboba oil ( light, great for all skin types) with like 10 drops of tea tree oil. I use the oil cleasning method and I started this beacause while I have mild breakouts, my skin is combination and HIGHLY sensitive making most products impossbile to use

It's amazing but the right combination of oils do work to clear skin. I've had great results with SCORE Skin Care acne treatment after using a face wash with Salicylic Acid in it. It absorbs quickly and smells really good. It's a simple routine that works. It has grape seed, tea tree, and other oils that work to calm things down after washing and also gets rid of scarring.

I am on my second bottle of Josie Maran Argan oil. I have oily and dry skin. What I like about this oil that it absorbs really quick and does not leave greasy residue , so it does not make oily areas more oily,but it really hydrates dry areas. After using it my skin is really soft. I also use it for my hair and nails.

i'm still skeptical about oils being efficient enough when you have real problems. Never helped me enough, and this "oily look" is questionable too. I suppose, oils could help as some addition to other skin products. PS I wouldn't advertise olive oil by giving Italian women as example, cause even though they are beautiful, their skin often ages really early due to all the sun exposure.

I use a grapeseed oil I found at my local health foods store. It works great, no matter what the weather is like outside. I would recommend using a health foods store version before spending the money for the name brand product.

Grapeseed oil works well. It does leave a sheen on your face and makes it feel pretty oily though, so I would only use it at night.

You can get pure 100% tea tree oil without TBS's added ingredients, for about the same price. Check out Desert Essence or other brands at health food shops.

I use DHC face cleansing oil. It takes the makeup off, even waterproof mascara, and leaves your skin smooth. I've never put oils onmy face and kept them on there, I guess I'm going to have to try it! I make my own body scrub with olive oil and sugar. I found a website that has any kind of perfume you can imagine in oil types. Mix a few drops in the scrub and my body is silky soft!

I absolutely love using argan oil for my face, hair, and body. I used to make my own blends with essential oils until I found Purelement Naturals. Their blend defend has such a great balance of oils that have helped my acne, dryness, and wrinkles. I swear by this stuff. Has anyone tried the oil cleansing method here? It's really good too. It unclogs pores.

i cleanse with olive soap from aleppo syria( non drying) tone with rose water toner and with a wet face and hands i apply 3 tiny drops of jojoba oil rub hands together and apply to wet face... my skin is dewy not oily and soft... i remove the olive soap with a wet muslin cloth for gentle exfoliation...

coconut oil and castor oil are great for anti-aging and definitely OK to use in eye area. I mix them 50/50 in a dropper bottle for easy application. They do take a little longer to absorb so allow for that extra time, I use them at home or at night.

"Josie Maran's beautiful skin as proof that argan oil works" is a laughable statement- Josie Maran's skin has been gorgeous since her teen modeling years. That said, her Argan oil bronzer is a good product- adds shimmer to skin and hair.

Great story! Too many women with oily skin are adamant about using oil products. I worked for Clinique years ago and started using their oil cleanser. Even other workers there thought I was crazy, but I loved it and still use it to this day. When my co-workers saw how great my skin looked, I got some converts. I have never even thought about using oil during the day, even though I learned through Clinique that the oil products can actually reduce oil on your skin. I have used skin oils for several years as I continue to try to prevent aging. My oil collection looks like an isle at a healthfood store. My favs for anti-aging are emu oil, argan oil, coconut oil, rose hips seed oil, and grapeseed oil. They really DO work. My ex-wrinkles thank them all! BTW, you can get excellent quality Emu oil much cheaper. Make sure it is organic farmed, made from the 1st press, while using the cold pressed extraction method only. Check out Vitacost and Swanson, and always read the ingredients. If you are scared of using just oils, then a 2 drops to your face cream. Wonderful benefits will be yours!

I've been using Olive Oil for over a year in the morning and pure coconut oil before bed. Lines have disappeared, my skin looks healthy, fresh and best of all, young! If you have a nut allergy, DO NOT USE ARGAN OIL! I am allergic to nuts, and used it on my face, not knowing that Argan oil comes from a NUT. I wish that they would put an allergy warning on products containing Argan oil. I had a bad reaction. Just beware ladies.

I'm a fan of Argan oil and yes I did try the Josie Maran Argan oil. It is truly a "miracle" oil because you can use it everywhere. I also prefer 100% organic Argan Oil by Acure. They are a bit more reasonable and cheaper.

I love using oils in my skin care regime and I have very oily/acne skin with occasional dryness. I have been using the oil cleansing method for years and I also moisturize with oils that I blend myself. It has done wonders for my skin so extremely oily girls should check it out.

I have been using Enjoy's Hair & Skin oil with argan oil for the last couple of years as my night time moisturizer. It sinks right in & leaves my face soft & glowy. In the winter I add my regular cream moisturizer afterward. I swear by oils now.

Grape seed oil is a MIRACLE Cream for my combination, slightly more on an oily side skin. I had some sunspots and discoloration from breakouts. It worked as magic for me - brighten my skin, made it soft and smooth without leaving it oily. It tightens pores, reduces breakouts and leaves my skin healthy looking, gloving but not shiny. I use olive oil in my hair overnight to protect from breakage. Works a treat and no problem rinsing it out. Adjust the amount to much smaller amounts for afternoon sheen.

I have been aware for some years that skin oils are beneficial so I have no fear of putting oils on my face. What does get frightened is my wallet! That being said, once the industry realizes that there still many of us out there who are dealing with a recession, and the start coming out with products that most of us can afford, I'll buy some face oil.

i tried using an oil wash for my skin and it was so amazing that i do it everyday now. i use a carrier oil (like coconut, or olive) then i use one targeted for a specific problem. it just lifts all the dirt and make-up right off my face and there's no drying, or stripping effect. it's a must try for anyone who wants clean soft skin in one simple step.

I do agree that there are some oils that are very helpful for the skin. I have used many, but not the brands you have reviewed. I am a big fan of Tea Tree Oil, Yarrow Oil, Neroli Oil (Great), Calendula oil (great for dry skin and for pregnant women). There are others too

i've been using jojoba oil to clean my face for several years. i started when my skin reacted to a new product i was trying and i broke out in little red spots all over my face. i looked like a clown! the jojoba oil calmed my skin and cleared everything. love it!
