Dewy skin
What's harder than mastering the minimal makeup look? Successfully pulling off dewy skin. This look is as much about skin care as it is about makeup, so I started by exfoliating with Arcona Golden Grain Gommage, $42. Then I applied Fresh Creme Ancienne Infusion, $90, which acts as a toner and leaves skin luminous. For a bit more glow, I used Jouer Luminizing Moisture Tint, $38, all over. Under my eyes (and over a few red spots) I layered Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Liquid Foundation, $34, and highlighted above my cheeks with Anastasia Highlighting Creme Duo in Aspen, $26. Finally I dabbed a light layer of Urban Decay Afterglow Glide-On Cheek Tint in Crush, $24, on the apples of my cheeks to fake a subtle flush. My hints: The trick to creating dewy skin is to make the glow look like it's coming from within your skin -- not on top of it. I like to mix highlighter and foundation together before applying so they are blended well, which helps it sink into my skin more naturally. I also avoid the T-zone when applying anything shimmery, otherwise I think I end up looking more sweaty than glowy.
