why would you bother with the bobby pins if you could just achieve messy hair with a blow dryer and then curl it and mess it up some more? duh.

That sounds like the stupidest complete waste of time I could possibly imagine! Twist your hair all up, then blow it out, then curl it back with a curling iron! How incredibly stupid!
