i forgot about l'oreal's hip colors! i loved it so much, i ran out of it fairly quickly n forgot to buy another 1... i will have to get it again soon! also want to try mac, sonia and some other brands is aw on this article... i love eye shadows! great article! :-)

I love MAC, its awesome. The L'oreal HIP eyeshadows actually aren't that bad. they are a good drugstore brand.

Excellent picks here. However, you missed the creme de la creme--"Five-Color Eyeshadow Palette" by Christian Dior. Whether you choose a designer, iridescent, or "lifting" combination, the colors are gorgeous and the shadows blend like butter. It is nearly impossible to make a mistake with this brand; I think Dior sets the bar for eyeshadow!

I splurged on a Bobbi Brown shadow when I was 19 and I wish now that I had just stayed with her line. The shimmers and the mattes are always perfect with little-to-no color flaking and a beautiful shade range.

MAC is great! Not only for the selection of colors, but they also go on pretty smoothly, have many different finishes and stay fairly well (though I still usually use a primer).

Good brands, but the key to long wearing eye shadow is in the application, and using the right base. I always use origins underwear for lids. They have it in different colors as well as a plain one to use purely under shadow. I've worn the ones with color swimming, running and at the gym, they stay. Not a powder but a cream stick.

I think that many brands of eyeshadow will last all day...even the cheaper ones as long as you apply eye primer. I love BH Cosmetics eyeshadows and of course Urban Decay.

Well, its embarrasing to admit that I have not tried one of these eye shadows. I did not know that Loreal sold the pigment in the HIP line. I live in a rural area where the option of going to the department store does not exist. Although I can buy on line, I prefer to see the color before I buy. So I am excited to go to the drugstore to get some HIP eye shadow colors!

I actually own the L'Oreal HiP shadow duo in the blue color and i found that i actually hat to use a lot to get the color to stand out and I have very light skin so thats saying something. The nars one looks really nice i like the colors but im reluctant to buy their products because of the price tag i mean im good with spending $5 on maybeline haha But this was a very interesting article

UD Deluxe Shadows are my absolute fav. Lorac eyeshadows are also fabulous. Never been a MAC or NARS shadow fan. They are both similar to me...kinda chalky.

I love mac because I can be sure of the quality and the color selection is great. I also love urban decay because it has beautiful palettes (like the Naked palette which I cannot stop raving about), but I think that although beautiful, NARS makeup is much too costly. I guess you get what you pay for...

I love that mac has so many colors, but do they make any pallets? I love urban decay's pallets, lots of colors, great prices, gives you a chance to try some new colors and find new favorites. I was disappointed that there were no talc-free or mineral options though.

These are GREAT shadows, but sometimes you just need a good eye primer! NOTHING lasts on my eyes without primer--Too Faced Shadow Insurance and Urban Decay Primer Potion are my favorites.

Some great picks for long lasting shadow! Some of my top two faves are Hard Candy & Mattify Cosmetics shadows. My skin is crazy oily and so creasing is always a problem. These two both last all day with no creasing or smudging and the Mattify brand works as a liner too.

theres also milani shadows from cvs,duane reed etc. theyre soooo good. just as good as mac .and i recently discovered LA colors shadow from the dollar store in the mineral shadow. it is one of thee best ive ever tried! worst ever-almay naturals. blah. what ever happened to max factor?
