Best Drugstore Shampoos
Though Pantene dominates this category, it wasn't number one. Guess what brand was?
No. 18: Head and Shoulders Citrus Breeze Shampoo, $7.69
TotalBeauty.com average reader rating: 9*
Why it's great: Readers agree "the scent is very refreshing and it makes me feel clean and fresh." But the love for this product goes beyond the smell, "[Head and Shoulders] fixed [my dandruff] problem in one wash ... not only does it keep your head moisturized, but it gives your hair tons of shine!" claims one reader. "I use it every day and my hair never looks oily (which is amazing considering how light colored my hair is)," another says. Bottom line, "it works wonders, smells great, and doesn't leave residue in your hair."

I have found that Nexus, for a brand sold in stores, to be one of the best. I still use Netrogena Clear to remove excess buildup especially before coloring my hair.

I use Garnier Fructis Fortifying Shampoo. Isn't this a good shampoo ? It has nutritive fruit oils (olive, avocado & shea )

Always love the smell of Aussie and Herbal essences. Pantene and L'Oreal work on my frizzy mess of hair.

I'm glad there are so many great drugstore shampoos out there! Right now my favorite shampoo is $24, but that's kind of expensive for shampoo! haha. Next time I'll try one of these drugstore brands.

I just love WEN Shampoo. It costs more, but it makes my hair so soft and silky. ANd, no harmful ingredients.

I have not used Herbal Essences in a long time but I remember it smelling fantastic and leaving my hair quite hydrated. I will have to try out this line again after I use up my other shampoos.
