This article needs updated ASAP. Many of the products are discontinued. My other disappointment is that most of these product only considered 3 to 9 consumer ratings. If a product is going to be on a top 10 list there should be at the very least 20 reviews taken into consideration. More like 30 should be the requirement. I found three off this list of 24 that were w/i a decent price range not discontinued and had an adequate poll of reviews.

This was interesting because I havent usesd any of these specific kinds yet. I normally use one of herbal essensce's shampoo and conditioner but i just recently bought the sauve keratin infused shampoo and conditioner so we'll see how that works out. I'll try one of these in the future though!

After everything I've tried, I can now tell that BURT's BEES is the best shampoo on this earth. It's 99% natural, paraben free, silicon free and gives your hair the care they deserve. I have a lot of hair, and they were dry for many years, but after 2 weeks of using Burt's bees shampoo and conditioner for dry hair (with bamboo and mango) they completely changed. They are now naturally healthy and shiny. PS: Always look for the most natural products. They'll make your hair look great, for real ! (not pseudo-shiny and greasy)

I have thin, baby fine hair and don't use styling products as often as I used to. My hair used to be very oily. When my scalp started itching, I switched to Neutrogena for Dry & Itchy Scalp. Love it! I'm also sensititve to too much perfume. It has a light minty delightful scent. The conditioner works well, too. I've been switching it with Kronos Phyxx and the volumizing shampoo and conditoner because I love the orangey scent. My hair is also color treated, but, with these products, not dry at all and no longer itchy on the scap.

I use drugstore products when it comes to certain things, but drugstore shampoos are terrible. I've tried everything from Herbal Essences to Pantene to Head and Shoulders, and they all dry my hair out. I'd rather pay the extra 10-20 dollars and have my hair be healthy and shiny. My fav, Pureology!

Since college, my hair has steadily become thinner. I have tried MANY products, and none of them work as well the Shielo Volumizing. Before I tried using it daily, I was told that I should have a picture taken of my scalp before I started using it, so I did. About two months later, I took another picture, and I was truely amazed. My scalp actually had MANY new hairs growing. I was SO happy. I highly recommend Shielo's product if you are looking for something safe to help with hair loss.

When my friend at work recommended Shielo Volumizing Shampoo and I tried it - I was sold on it. I Here's about me: I have used some of the best volumizers in the past. I used stay at home a many of days very upset with my flat, lifeless hair. I would see other girls and they had the most beautiful head of hair. I tried all the mousse, gel, spritz, you name it - I have probably used it. Not now though, Shielo Volume Shampoo made my hair is so full and shiny. I can just blow dry a litttle and go. All day lasting fullness. I tell all my friends about it, and even went as far as to give it in gift bags for the women in my family for this past christmas. I was put off at the price at first, but a little tiny drop makes your whole hair later - and its last longer than the cheaper bottles i used to buy...way worth it!

I love Garnier Fruitis, it is wonderful!! My hair is very long and thick, I also color my hair with the same products (I'm completely gray headed at 47) Anyway, all of these products work great!! the shampoo/conditioner for colored hair helps hold the color longrer. If my hair gets dry I use either sleek and shine or moisture care. The prices are really good too and you can usually find coupons for more savings in Sundays paper

Geezer here again. I just noticed that my original post was on April Fool's Day and that because of that some people might think I wasn't serious about the Joy dishwashing liquid thing. I use it, really, have for 30 years. Hair, body wash - its great! For washing dishes - no way! I've got a dishwasher (no not my wife and I load thing myself). So quit wasting your money on all that froo-froo stuff and get some Joy and you too can "Lemony" fresh hair!!

I have noticed, that using a differant shampoo " OUT OF 3 OR 4" and conditioner everyday has really HELPED my hair, and I buy the cheap ones, like V05 as the high priced ones seemed to make my hair that is very straight, feel bulky and weighed down, not to mention a build up on the scalp..

Hi mfbmsESP, AVEDA has two products which are excellent for african american (or overly cruly/dry caucasian) hair. The first is their Brillian line, with a deep cleansing shampoo, perfect for those that that dont wash their hair everyday, and an excellent deep mooisturizing conditioner, as well as styling prod. The other is their Dry Remedy line, moisturizing for all hair types, and smoothes the cuticle.

the absolute BEST shampoo for color treated hair is Oribe. Expensive but well worth it, color takes alot longer to fade and it keeps it really shiny and healthy looking!

hi twilightlover10, I'm a licensed cosmetologist and I wanted to comment on your split end dilemma. There are no shampoo and conditioners that will actually mend those ends. The only thing to do is get a hair cut that gets rid of the dry ends. I'm not sure how much damage there is to your hair but in order to get good ends, you have to get rid of the bad ones. From there, start using hair protectors when styling. Herbal Essence doesn't have the greatest ingredients in it to protect from drying. If you're going to shop drugstore brand, I think Pantene might be your best bet. I hope that helps!

I am a Pantene girl! Almost any comination or "flavor". I have thick hair that has renged from short to long, in between, and back again. I also color my hair averaging about every three months, sometimes including highlights. I think I have tried almost everything outside of salon products and Pantene is just the best. The only prob I have ever had with Pantene was a "smooth and shine" formula. It sorta left my hair without body and oily looking.

My 2 favorites are both from Lush. I love Squeaky Green shampoo bar,which is great since I've moved to a place with hard water. Before that I loved Seanick. The other I can use and love is Cynthia Sylvia Stout. It has beer in it and smells amazing. Makes my hair feel lush and wonderful. Another I love,from Lush,isn't a shampoo per-say,but is great,it's called Big. It has sea salt and lime in it and makes your hair so wonderfully clean and full.

I keep seeing shampoos for damaged hair, for curly hair, and for color-treated hair on these lists...but my hair is fine, not badly damaged, and uncolored. I use Herbal Essences Long Term Relationship, since my hair is long, and I think that does a good job...but I can't help but wonder, is there something better for me?

I have used Paul MItchell Awapuhi shampoo for years; it is fabulous!! It smells great, does a great job cleaning my hair while leaving it moisturized and is a fabulous body shampoo, too. Mitchell's The Conditioner can be used as a leave-in, or rinsed out. I have always come back to these products even though I've tried others. I also find the Joico products very consistent and excellent-the liters of Biolage I just bought will most likely become bubble bath. The color care shampoo doesn't rinse out, and the moisturizer does little to keep my hair silky or smooth. What a mess. So, Paul MItchell take a bow-twenty years of expensive hair care products and you STILL win in my book.
