No. 6: Burt's Bees More Moisture Raspberry & Brazil Nut Shampoo, $8

TotalBeauty.com average reader rating: 6.1*
Why: One reader says, "UGH. I found myself without my regular shampoo during an out-of-town visit and this was the shampoo available. Ironically, I was worried because I don't need more moisture in my hair, and it's a good thing I don't, because I surely wouldn't have gotten it from this product. It was awful. Left my hair a tangled, almost matted mess. I had to use way more conditioner than I normally would just to get a comb through my hair. I also found the fragrance sickening, but that, I suppose, is a matter of personal taste." Another woman says, "it doesn't do ANYTHING as far as moisture is concerned, it actually makes it feel dry … might go back to Pantene after I get through the other bottle I have." One reviewer adds, "I absolutely hated this product! This shampoo left my hair dry, tangled, and matted. I have never disliked a shampoo so much after using it. I ended up using it as a body wash when I was on vacation. I would not recommend this at all!"

Amen to the horribleness of the Burt's Bees More Moisture Raspberry and Brazil Nut shampoo. I usually love Burt's Bees products, but this shampoo was the worst I have ever used. My hair was a rat's nest disaster and it felt awful.

I dont think I will ever give up using my salon Aveda hair products. They area little pricey but in the long run buying large size and knowing it WORKS it really isnt that expensive. I love al their products but restrict myself to hair only, for over 20 years. Anytime I stopped using it I regret it and always come back to it, no more of that for me

Good to have a heads up on what not to buy. I'm loving Aussie cleanse and mend shampoo.

I'm not a fan of any drugstore haircare. I stick to quality if I want quality results.

My girlfriend loves the nature fusion too. I will stay away from the others for sure.

I'm guilty of having tried a couple of those, and Herbal Essences shampoos usually just smell good but they are not very good for your hair. :( Same with Pantene. My hair dresser told me to stay away from that brand.
